Burst (2-22-04)

Tremors underneath;
A fault line moves along
Boundaries, heart
And mind. A war between
Emotion; logic
Fatalities are excessive, victories few,
Far between.

I am ready to burst,
Break open
Wide, like a hydrogen balloon,
Flames in
The sky. Nothing to do,
Just waiting
To die. The war must
End, soon.
Give me permission to cry.

Raindrops like
Tears, their static fills my
Head, space
Between my ears. Flood to
Wipe your
Memory away. Don't go, please,
Don't stay.

I am ready to burst,
Break open
Wide, like a hydrogen balloon,
Flames in
The sky. Nothing to do,
Just waiting
To die. The war must
End, soon.
Give me permission to cry.

Floating above
Take me so high. Blood
Pumping, pushes
Out from inside. You reject,
Needle in
My side. Feelings I no
Longer hide.

Can't give up
Won't come down
Gladly let you
Toss me around
Rip apart the
Friendship between us
Can't forget, that's
What love does.

I'm ready to burst,
Break open
Wide. Like a hydrogen balloon,
Flames in
The sky. Nothing to do,
Just waiting
To die. The war must
End, soon.
Give me permission to cry.
