The New Year always rolls in without a hitch.
That peace remains however, only until They disrupt the silence.
Yes, Them. The ones dreaded by such a great mass.
They march up to your door, knowing you can't resist Their pitch.
They proudly march back, your name clasped tightly in Their palm.
Weeks pass.
They return, but now asking for payment before they deliver.
Again They leave, but this time with pockets of your money.
Depressingly, the worst is yet to come.
They now invade the grocery stores to gain more cash.
You try to elude Them, but from Their eyes no one is gone.
Around every corner, around every bend, They lie in wait.
Waiting, to ask you Their one, constantly repeated question which I now
quote,
"Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?"

Ha ha! Interesting I wrote this..seeing as I AM a girl scout! Did you
notice how it rhymed?
