Daylight's Shadow
Day reveals the world unknown
And night hides it all away
The night so dreary and alone
Has a lot more to say
It opens up a gateway
Stretching far beyond our reach
And if we may, we’d listen
And listen to it teach
Don’t fear what appears within me
Don’t forget that day will come
For I am just a shadow
Though I am loved by some
Many love my other
They chose him over me
I am the less liked brother
That all must bear to see
The next time you look out
And see my darkness fall
Please don’t complain or shout
Rise and stand up tall
Revel in my darkness
And remember what you see
For without me
What would light be?
