Bethy’s Tears

No one sees Bethy’s silent tears

Streaking her sprinkling of freckles

Glowing, glistening and crippling her smile

She has harder days that never seen to end

Her boyfriend left her for some insensitive reason

On Valentines Day, she cried

Bethy cries and it makes me die inside

Bethy’s teachers don’t understand how hard she tries

They think she’s in a zone

When they make Bethy leave I cry, too

Bethy works so hard but

They don’t see her efforts and

I am scared that she’ll die too

And make my tears fall again

Patchwork stitches around her heart

Situations pull them, break apart

Causing scars and scabs to fester

Life is hard for Bethy’s smile

It droops down slower, longer every day
