Two warriors faced each other as the Cherry Tree Grove blossoms flew. One had hair of the forgotten elm, the other golden night. The long grass quaked as the warriors' gazes locked.
A sword of golden steel was drawn, reflecting the gilded face of a young girl and her yellow hair. Her gray eyes could be seen blinking silver tears onto her rusting chain mail. Slowly the warrior brought the blade to her face, and waited for the other to acknowledge her challenge.
The other let the challenge go unnoticed for a time, for he was preoccupied with the fire on the wind. Smoldering ashes swirled around him as the wind picked up. He brushed his black locks out of his sorrowful green eyes and drew his blue silver blade.
Attacking as lighting speed, they collided; sparks flew from the frolic of the clashing metal. Waves of ashes blossoms and grass scattered as the two masters met. Neither warrior could gain an advantage on the other.
The boy with drew his blade to quickly catch his breath, and she stood there in hatred wishing he were dead. She brushed away the salt soak hair that suck to her eyes and raised her sword for the final blow to destroy her enemy. He tried to block the oncoming blade but wasn't quick enough, for her blade was at his shoulder and her face was next to it. Her rage filled wraith pierced his armor s the daunting cry was heard, and withdrew it now blood stained from tainted sight.
He then fell suddenly, not from the wound, from exhaustion of the fight. She poised her herself to kill him, and saw his glazing eyes. She let his face sink in to her and gasped from the sight. She dropped the blade and fell, for the fight was too much, and landed on his chest. She listened to the slowly fading beat of his heart. Their hands met and he whispered to her," I have always...". His voice trailed off as he slowly faded from this world. She only cried and looked at his face. "Forgive me," she whispered back and died shortly after from a broken heart.
