My Paper Dolls

Snips of paper litters the floor. Blues and greens, reds and yellows cover the carpet. Little paper dolls are spread all around the bed. Each baring a specific name. I pick up the last paper, and cut out a paper person. Taking a pen I scribbled the name and set it down carefully with the rest of them. Getting up i take the can and dowse the bed and floor with the liquid. Striking the match I watch the small flame flick back and forth. I step out and chuck the match into the room. The flame from the match awoke the live liquid and it dances with the flame from the match. They dance around the room picking up the paper dolls. The doll dances with them for a while, but is turned into ashes in an instant. I watch it dance around the room, the curtains at a blaze. It's such a beautiful sight. The bed so inviting, I walk into the flame filled room. Stepping over the charred objects the bed was nice and cozy. Pulling up whatever that was left of my blanket and fell asleep snuggled with the ashes of my paper dolls. The flame licks at my toes, my fingers, and even my little nose.
