2-minute Poetry- another creative writing assignment. My teacher gave the class a random topic and we had to write a poem about it in 2 minutes. The following poems are 3 of my 2-minute poems. The topics are first, followed by the poems that I wrote in class.

Ashtray:
Ceramic ashtray
Broken on the floor
Jagged pieces
Watch out
Don't cut your foot
Ashes spilled out
Someone please clean up
The broken ashtray

Water:
Water surrounds me,
Swirling quickly.
I try not to go under,
But I cannot help it.
Water fills my lungs,
I need air.
All of the sudden,
The water releases me.
I shudder in the cold night air.
Frightened that the water
Tried to kill me.
The water glares back,
Stay away!

Lounge Chair:
In front of the blaring TV,
Munching on popcorn you sit.
Lazy and listless,
Staring at the screen.
King of the La-Z-Boy,
You love your lounge chair.
"Get up and get some air," I tell you
"Fat chance," you say,
"Why should I get up,
When I can lounge all day,
In my nice, comfortable,
La-Z-Boy chair?"
