Tapping lightly to not wake the child
Tapping lightly to set my soul free
Verses once overflowing my mind
Now running to hide as I am tapping
Sipping my sleeping agent tonight
I am tapping my troubles away
In hopes of a restful sleep
Without worries of tomorrow
Without guilt of wrong doings
Questioning, plaguing my conscience
Tapping out secrets I hold so dear
Tapping out others I keep far from
There are no sheep to bore me to sleep
Only the non-stop tapping
And the sweet taste of drink
Sweetly embellishing in the quite that surrounds
As not to often do I hear this sound
Of nothing other than the insistent tapping
Tapping of thoughts inside my head
