Marionette

Strings that hold you, bind you.
You're controlled, but you're content
I on the other hand,
Will break free from my bonds.
I'll show the world that I don't need
A master. A puppeteer.

You may be my jury
And you may be my judge,
But never will you be
My executioner,
My assassin,
My slayer.

I won't be controlled.
I'll cut my stings,
I will not dance your
Graceful dazzling movements
I will not bow my head,
For the ax to follow.

I'm set free.
Not to be tied down.
No ropes on my wrists,
No chains on my ankles,
No bars to confine me,
And no one to take over control.
