Best friends forever!
A simple phrase,
Uttered in childhood.
Why do we say these things?
We know they aren't true.
Forever is too long anyway because at
A moment's notice,
We hate eachother.
Things change,
People change,
Friendships die.
Friends in sixth grade,
As seniors,
Haven't talked in four years.
Our lives have drifted,
Far away from eachother.
Every once in a while,
I wonder where my old friends went.
But then I go see my new friends,
Hang out at school.
Knowing in a few months,
I'll never see most of them again.
I'm going to college,
They'll still be in high school.
Why can't we be friends forever?
Because life won't allow us to be
Best Friends Forever.
