Fairy Tale Romance

It was an ordinary day,

I had gone shopping for food,

When I saw him.

Our eyes met across the aisles,

He looked at me,

Deep into my eyes,

Like he was searching for something.

It was only an instant,

Before he turned away,

And I realized something,

It could never be.

I don’t remember his face,

Or what he was wearing,

But I remember the lesson

He taught me in those few seconds.

Fairy tale romances,

Are very exclusive.

People tend to forget to mention

One essential thing,

That the only people

Who deserve love,

Are the beautiful ones.

Someone forgot to tell me,

That I was not good enough,

I would never be looked at,

With adoration and affection

No, after all, those were reserved,

For a nice figure and a pretty face,

Someone forgot to tell me,

That fairy tale romances,

Just don’t belong in my world.

Someone simply forgot to tell me

I was unworthy of love.

A/N If you have no idea what I’m going on about, don’t worry; neither do I!
