Road to Nowhere

"Dead end" a rusting sign read
By the side of the road ahead
I took a moment and pondered
What I would see if I wandered
Down the road that was meant to go
To nowhere, to no place, no
Destination clear at the time
At this point in this life of mine
I began to stroll, taking in the scene
A sky clear, and trees green
Worries, fears, all melted away
With the high sun of midday
It was the road and I, what a pair
Something new, mysterious, and ever so rare
I knew not where it was to go
Maybe I wasn't supposed to know
It was a road never taken
But I knew I hadn't been mistaken
The road was mine; I was the one who went
Down the path that heaven had sent.
