“Love is an attempt to change a piece of the dream-world into reality.” – Theodor Reik
~~*~~
Every time the circle turns, it twists my
heart in the rotation, for I so
keenly perceive the time without you. By
this frozen season, every time I go
from my room, it’s with hope and prayer that the
face I’ll see bears a faint scar at the jaw,
and hazel eyes, with a rogue’s smirk for me,
complete with smooth off-hand remark. The thaw
of spring brings new promise, that an auburn
head will appear in the crowd, pushing through
tourists on cobblestones; that I may turn
and see at last the one I belong to.
One thought plagues – do I seek right? And if you
saw me tomorrow, would you know me too?
