The wind sighed as it ran through the branches of the swaying trees in the park.
The boy looked up and saw leaves floating with eachother to the ground. He walked
on, and there was a pair of squirrels racing up the rough trunk of a tree. The boy
walked on, and saw a set of birds gliding happily in the wind. The boy shrugged and
strolled further on the path in the park, his jacket tied around his waist, waving in the
wind. He placed his hands in his pants’ pockets, and sauntered aimlessly further into
the park. All he came here to do was take a stroll and relax, but he wasn’t relaxed even
though his pace made it seem like he was. He was lonely.
He took a left turn on the path and found a bench, and there on it sat a girl that
looked to be somewhere around his age, all alone. She looked up at him, and the
sunlight glistened in her eyes. A smile spread across her face, and she motioned for him
to come sit with her.
He stepped slowly closer, for he was very uneasy when around girls. They made
him nervous when they looked at him, or when they talked to him, or any other time.
He loosened his shirt collar, and forced a smile back at her. His face started to feel
hotter and he realized he must be blushing. Sweat drops slowly formed on his forehead,
so he wiped his face with his arm, and continued to the bench.
The boy sat down next to the girl, but put a space between them. He fiddled
with his fingers, then finally threw the girl a glance to see that she was looking back at
him, her hair dancing in the zephyr. He thought he must look like a tomato because he
was blushing so hard. He thought she was probably going to laugh at him, but she
simply gazed at him with her big beautiful hazel eyes but squaked, “Hello!”
The boy covered his ears to try to minimize the sound he heard because she was
so loud. He squeezed his eyes shut, and stood up. The girl looked up at him kind of
upset as if she wished he would stay, stay and keep her company, but the boy paid no
attention to that, and walked away in a hurry. But the girl raised from the bench and
followed behind him. The boy whirled around, surprised to see the girl there following
him. But he turned around and increased his speed to try to get away from the
pursuer. This only made the girl go faster. The boy glanced behind him and saw her still
coming so he rushed down the path to get out of the park, yet she still followed. His
rosy cheeks, hot from blushing, faded away as he wisked down the path trying to
out-run the girl. One more left turn and he would almost be home. Half nervous about the girl close behind him, and half happy to almost be
out of the park and close to home, he went faster.
They crossed a busy street and the boy burst through the door of the building. He slammed and locked it shut
behind him before the girl could get it. He leaned against the door and panted heavily
from the workout of running all through the park to get away from the girl, as the door
bell rang over and over from the girl. But he was home now, he was safe. Perhaps right now it is
better for him to be alone.
