“Faith”

If love is the closest thing to faith

that we can comprehend

and have logical theories

and maps and diagrams

to describe it, and chart its flow,

then maybe love

can help me understand

Faith.

I used to understand Faith, and mind you I don’t miss it.

I’m just a little wistful.

Intuition and feeling and knowing and loving, that’s

what I know, what I am.

Not believing.

But isn’t it the same thing?  But isn’t it not?

For me to believe in certainty when all we have to

hold are loose uncertain strands.

It’s all assumption.

I love uncertainty, this I know.

Maybe Faith is loving certainty.
