That's What Best Friends Do

Rina Alexander kicked the soccer ball as hard as she could. She twisted her ankle and screamed in pain. "Rina, you alright?" Madison Xavier yelled from the goal. Tina Dawson ran to Rina and helped her up, only getting another scream of pain. Sabrina Kirke signaled a time-out and she helped Tina hold Rina up.

"You twisted your ankle, Einstein," Tina said, bringing Rina to the bench. Rina winced as Sabrina examined it.

"No fracture, it's just sprained."

"Want me to get you to the clinic?" Madison offered, her eyes filled with concern.

"No thanks, I can walk home from here."

"You could hardly get to the bench," Sabrina pointed out. Tina sighed.

"I'll call Isa to pick you up." At that, she went towards her bag and took out her cell phone. The fifteen year old sighed softly and winced as Madison touched her ankle.

"Not that bad," Madison muttered.

"Oh, quiet Maddie, you never got sprained your whole lifetime," Rina said. Madison laughed.

"You're right." Tina walked to them.

"Isa's coming in a while."

"All the way from Fifth Avenue?" Sabrina asked, surprised.

"Fifth Avenue is not that far from here."

"Fifteen blocks?"

"Right." Tina chuckled. "I forgot."

"And we could've called someone nearer," Rina cut in.

"She said it wasn't such a hassle."

"If we had to make her go here while she was studying Trigonometry, I'm gonna kill you." Rina grinned.

"She was on the computer."

"Oh, okay. If you say so."

They were chatting for awhile until a dark green Porsche came up. Isabelle Giovanni's green eyes were standing out perfectly through her shades. "What happened?" she asked immediately as she jumped out of the driver's seat. Rina went red.

"Well, I kinda sprained my ankle," she explained. "They called you and asked you to pick me up."

"Okay," she said and opened the car door. "Get in."

"And I can do that how?" Rina raised an amused eyebrow. Isa grinned while rolling her eyes as she walked to Rina and helped her get into the car.

Isa was driving towards Rina's house. Rina was silent the whole ride. "What's wrong?" she asked. Rina shook her head.

"Nothing."

"Yeah right, and I'm the bloody queen of England."

"This was such a hassle for you."

"No, it wasn't."

"Fifteen blocks just to bring me home?"

"That's what best friends do, my dear Rina Alexander." Rina laughed and nodded.

"Don't expect me to do this just yet. I'm still fifteen."

"But you owe me!"

"Fine, I'll drive you home from school on my motor bike once my ankle heals."

"Deal enough." They arrived at Rina's country side styled house. Isa helped her to the door as she rang the doorbell.

"Thanks Isa."

"Like I said," Isa said , grinning. "That's what best friends do."

Rina grinned and limped inside her house. Isa smiled and headed towards her car, driving home.
