Nobody sees her.
Even the dwarves among them tower above the girl,
the girl who hides.
She drapes herself in black,
covering every patch of skin
to obscure herself from sight.
Always in the corner, silent,
she's staring at the ground or gazing at the sky;
anything to avoid those meticulous eyes.
They probe her, examine her face and body.
They watch everything she does,
finding each fault.
Whispering derogative thoughts.
Still they don't see her,
and they think she can't hear them.
But she's always watching, listening.
Like the world's a movie
and she's trapped on the other side of the screen.
