Drowning in Life

Sinking deeper into death
in the sea of life,
pressure mounting on my chest,
I drown, smothered in brine.

I strain to breathe and I
despair, let out one sigh.
I flicker off the light
and drown, smothered in brine

My assassin is my life.

The waves, they pound me
Away from death's deep sea-
waves of despair, fury
engulf me, I can't sleep;
choke me, I can't breathe.

My worthless battered spirit
killed beneath the seacliff steep.

Away from death's sweet bloody brine
life drags me with ocean tide.

The choice isn't mine.

My start, my end, just time decides
as it too swiftly rushes by.
