I’m waiting

for what has almost arrived
to the surface
it skims
the heartbeat

with every breath it goes
in
and out
to return

my familiar

I can't shake the feeling that
it'll be too soon
how sudden
urging
so anxious for release
enjoyed under
false pleasantries

invade us stranger
beds so near
patient in dormancy
so knowing,
trusting,
confident that
I’ll break

watch it free
roaming this mind
entrapped in body
soul
and heart
exploring,
possessing,
violating flesh

slight tremors
coming against me
barely touch

forget there's anything around

let's hold on for
one last moment is going to
slip away
out of grasp

hear the pleading
drenched in screams
never enough to
stop
the violence

coming inside
