No Better Than Me

I'll leave here today with hope in my eyes,

You'll leave here today haunted by your lies.

I hope I can show you what the truth is.

We say what needs to be said; you think we're just kids.

My life matters too, though I'm still young.

When you shut me out, my heart has been stung.

You can leave me here, heartbroken, but still

No bad feelings towards you, no need to kill.

I can feel your love towards all others,

Why not to me? You could be my brother.

We're all the same when you talk about needs!

Love is number one, everybody's heart feeds.

You try to put me down, yet you don't try to lift me up.

You can drink from a fountain, but when I try to sup

You push me away! Listen, I'm not immortal!

I need to sleep, drink, and eat, too; My words are more than subtle.

You say you're better than me, what proof have you got?

Oh, just because you are? Ha, I think not!

I hope I've shown you the facts, an attitude adjustment.

We are all the same, equal in our own respect.

Well, this is a poem I wrote in 7th grade, so around 3 or 4 years ago.
