First Cut: a small pain. It faded in an instant. The scar will last forever though.
Second Cut: layered onto the first. Deeper; more damaging to the newly healed wound, but it will fade as the First Cut did, only to return with.
Third Cut: Deeper still. Blood and tears pour as one, as the vein is sliced, the supplier of life. Healed as the first were.
Fourth Cut: Worse than all before. Cut to the bone; healed only through a small miracle.
Fifth Cut: The brush of the blade only, but the newly healed wounds return again redoubled. All that was comes back in a rush, and finally the spirit brakes. Two souls unwind. The body of their love is dead; the spirit destroyed. No doctor can heal the pains of the heart caused by the death of love. For now I do not wish it to be healed. I wish only to wallow in these feelings; to match that with pain of the body. I take up my knife now and set to work, on the Five Cuts.
