Molded
When you walk
Do you see what I see?
Do you see the wallflowers?
Do you see the shadows?
Can you see the people you ignore?
The people who aren't "good enough"
Am I good enough?
To live in your clouded world
Where all you see is yourself
And faces of people you think you know
Do you really know anybody at all?
Can you tell anybody your thoughts and feelings?
Do you think they will tell?
Do you trust those people who live like you?
I can trust the wallflowers and shadows
But can you trust the molded?
Can you trust the people who try?
Try to fit in only to lose
Lose their self
The people who cling desperately to their masks
Who never want to let go
For fear of difference
Do you tolerate difference?
Do you wish you could be different?
We are different
We accept our differences
But you do not
To you a difference is scary
Only because it is not tolerated
If we were not different
Would we all be friends?
Would their still be the wallflowers and shadows?
Would their still be uniqueness?
Would their still be me?
If you tolerated differences would I be like you?
Or would you be like me?
I don't want to be one of the molded
I am happy with who I am
Are you happy with who you are?
Are the molded happy?
I wouldn't know
I am not one of the molded
I am not one of the shadows
I am not one of the wallflowers
But I am unique
I am myself
I do not follow the crowd
And I tolerate differences
I will never be one of the molded
But
Will you always be one of the molded?
I see you watching us
Do you want to join us?
Do you want to drop the mask?
Do you want to be one of the molded?
