Who died but to return? Too few.

Who died through the months that flew?

Who died when they thought it would be fun?

Who died when they’d only just begun?

Who died when times were really bad?

Who died and made their families sad?

Who died when rats were amongst their lives?

Who died amidst the shrieks and cries?

Who died and didn’t know the whys?

Who died and made crosses in the skies?

Who died and were buried by poppies that blow?

Who died with friends they used to know?

Who died to save us all?

Who died through Hitler’s evil pull?

Who died?

Too many!

AN:/ I love to write war poems. I was very pleased after I wrote this. I thought I did a good job. What do you think? Feedback greatly appreciated as usual.
