Please don't cry when you say goodbye,
I can forget the times you lied to me,
Just please don't go and not even try
to be nice about it.
Does this mean the times you bled
and made me think you'd soon be dead
inside and out,
while you cried the whole night through
on an oceanic bed of blue,
was all for nothing?
The smoke that stained the walls
and filtered through the folds
you used to call 'rustic' not old
has faded.
Please don't beg me to go when you know
how desperate I am to leave this home
and all its memories
I wish I'd never made.
You wrote me a song,
But complained when I couldn't read between the lines.
Where everyone cries, friends don't exist
and you know you're happy.
The comedy stunts you pulled together
from when we were ten.
No knowledge of future plans back then.
Your dad had just given you a nosebleed.
It wasn't a fall from the tree outside,
Now you decide
that you have to go, or risk committing suicide.
