Reflection in the Sky
Author:

Best friend got me into writing free verse poetry. I believe I wrote this in 2 minutes flat, but I think it's pretty good for my first time writing free verse. About seeing myself in the sky and being able to relate myself to thunderstorm habits.

I look up at the sky,
And I see a mirror.
I can see a distorted reflection,
Of a face streaming was tears.
Lightning crashing within blurred eyes,
Trees falling and shattering dreams,
Wind blowing decisions one way or the other,
Leaves scattering thoughts and emotions.

It's sickening to see things so clearly,
To see myself in the sky,
A thunderstorm full of beautiful regrets.
I long for the day when I can pull away,
away from my reflection.
When I can gather my leaves and tame my lightning.
When I'm able to calm the trees and it's restless branches.
When the raindrops don't remind me of you

I look up at the sky,
And I see you.
