Lies Tell No Truth

Rating: PG-13 for language content.

Author's Note: This is a prologue to tell the people who haven't read A Deadly Game of Vengeance. This is the sequel to it. The prologue is almost the repeat of the Chapter 16 Alternate ending except it's not completely the same. Okay, this was suppose to be due out on March 7th but since I'm going to my cousin's house for practically the whole day and have no time to put it up on Sunday. Here it is on Saturday.

Summary: The sequel to A Deadly Game of Vengeance, based on the Ch16 alternate ending. A group of kids seeking revenge for the death of their friend sends their English teacher to jail. The teacher now turns on the kids when one of them tells a lie that if it was true could get the teacher in deeper trouble. How can they prove to him that something that does not exist doesn't exist?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Our friend Helen was killed on one fateful and tragic day. She was killed for uncovering a secret from a teacher. She left me; Jenny as much clues as she could so Suzie, Sonal, Dianna, and I could find out what the secret was and who the killer was. On the day she was killed, we heard a scream, a cry for help. We found the person who screamed; it was Helen, dead, stabbed and clubbed to her death. We had found her during our lunch period where we were in our English room with our English teacher, Mr. Kaufman. As she was dying and Mr. Kaufman had gone off to call for assistance, Helen told us that Mr. Kaufman could be helpful. However, it led us to discover something much deeper than what Helen had discovered. And it led to Mr. Kaufman's arrest.

Mr. Kaufman revealed something to us at what we believed to be house of Mr. Keeler, the teacher we discovered as the Helen's murderer. The house was empty but the door was open so we decided to search it. Mr. Kaufman, I believe had pushed Sonal and I down the stairs to the basement and when Suzie and Dianna came down from upstairs to see what had happened and Mr. Kaufman said something shocking to them. He did not know that I did not get knocked out unlike Sonal, and I had spotted him sticking a gun into the back of his pants and I had eavesdropped what he said to Suzie and Dianna. This is what happened that day we thought we would get our revenge but something else happened:

We entered the dim lighted house. The house seemed deserted.

"We'll split up and search the house. Suzie and Dianna, check upstairs. Jen and Sonal, go down to the basement. I'll stay up here in case Mr. Keeler comes into the house. Leave your book bags here. Be careful." Mr. Kaufman said.

We nodded and tossed our book bags together in a corner. Suzie and Dianna went up the stairs. Sonal and I found the stairs to the basement in the kitchen. I also noted that the back door was parallel to the doorway of the stairs. Sonal stood next to the doorway and looked down.

"Go first." She said.

"Why me?"

"Because," she thought a moment, "you're older."

I gave a mean look.

"Fine, be that way." I mumbled and started down the stairs with Sonal a couple steps behind me.

I went halfway down the stairs when Sonal suddenly screamed. Before I could turn around to see why she screamed, Sonal fell on me and we both tumbled down the stairs into the dark. I felt the ice cold floor on my cheek when we finally landed. I heard heavy footsteps run up the stairs. I got up and groaned. My head hurt like hell. I saw Sonal next to me, she was knocked out. I went back up the stairs stealthily determined to find out who deliberately pushed us down the stairs. When I got to the last step, I saw something that made me back down a few steps.

I watched behind the cover of darkness. Mr. Kaufman was standing in the kitchen. He pulled out a standard military issue M9 pistol. I watched him screw on the silencer. He pulled back the slide and I saw the gold flash of a bullet loaded in the chamber. Mr. Kaufman stuck the gun in the back of his pants leaving the gun half visible. He walked out in the dining room which adjoined the living room.

"What was that?" Suzie said urgently.

Suzie and Dianna must have gone back down to the first floor.

"What was what?" Mr. Kaufman asked, confused.

I made my way to the doorway of the kitchen and dining room. It didn't have a door so I could only remain behind the wall and listen.

"That sound." Suzie said.

"I didn't hear anything." Mr. Kaufman replied.

I heard a sound behind me; I turned to see Sonal coming up the stairway. I silenced her and motioned for her to come over. I whispered what I saw to her.

"We need to find Jen and Sonal." Dianna said.

"They are still downstairs." Mr. Kaufman said.

"Let's go get them then." Suzie said irritated.

"You aren't going anywhere." Mr. Kaufman said with an evil tone.

"What do you mean we aren't going anywhere?" Suzie asked.

I whispered instructions to Sonal to call the police. Sonal nodded and went down the basement steps to use her cell phone.

"Stop smiling like that!" Suzie's voice rang out.

"Why not?" Mr. Kaufman taunted.

"I'm sick of this, let's go find them." Suzie said angrily.

"Don't think about moving." Mr. Kaufman warned them.

"You . . . you can't be." Suzie stuttered.

"There's nobody to help you now. Both of them fell down the stairs and got knocked out." Mr. Kaufman said with an amused tone.

"But . . . you were there when-" Dianna said.

"Yes, I was there when Helen died. I was also with you when she was attacked." Mr. Kaufman answered.

"But, Mr. Keeler." Suzie said, puzzled.

"Mr. Keeler was just a puppet. He knew my secret. I threatened to kill him if he told anyone. Then, he acted all weird and attracted the attention of Helen. I watched him all the time. Then, Helen got too far into Mr. Keeler. I ordered Mr. Keeler to kill her. I killed him yesterday, he was pathetic. He allowed himself to be seen when he attacked Suzie. You're never going to find him." Mr. Kaufman said happily.

"Oh my god." Suzie muttered.

Meanwhile, while this was going on, the police had snuck in through the back door and heard what Mr. Kaufman had said.

"I put several bullets in him then, I smashed up his face and decapitated him. I tore the body into pieces and deposed of them." Mr. Kaufman said with a crazed voice. "Before I put the bullets in, I tortured him for making a mess while killing Helen. I stuffed a towel down his throat. All the way down into his stomach and I held on to the tiny bit in the end. When his stomach began digesting it, I pulled the towel out taking his stomach lining out with it. It's really painful; you will die from it, but slowly very slowly. I left him there for 4 hours until I shot him. I smashed up half of his face, more like cut it in half. His brain fell out like jelly and blood spilled everywhere. I cut his head off and his body into pieces. I deposed of them piece by piece in different places."

Suzie whimpered and cowered behind Dianna, peeking over her shoulder at Mr. Kaufman.

"Now, after I'm done with you two. I'll go and finish off the others." He said wickedly.

Mr. Kaufman reached behind his back and pulled out the silenced M9. The gun went flying through the air when Mr. Kaufman was suddenly tackled to the floor by several police officers. Suzie shrieked. Sonal and I walked into the living room and calmed Suzie down.

"I thought you guys were-" Suzie said.

"I wasn't knocked out, but Sonal was; for only a few minutes. I saw him screw the silencer on the gun and heard the whole conversation. When Sonal revived, I told her to call the police." I explained.

"I can't believe this." Dianna said.

We heard the laughing Mr. Kaufman and turned towards him. The officers had handcuffed him and pulled him up from the floor.

"I killed the man who was supposed to be your English teacher. His name was also Kaufman, and his first name started with a J. In a way, he looked like me. For three years, I took on his identity. Until Mr. Keeler found out, he was afraid of me. He tried to tell someone but, I was always there. I still remember what I did to the man who was supposed to be your English teacher. I knocked him out then, I cut him open and detached some of his organs and left them hanging out. He returned into consciousness and he felt all the pain. He saw his organs hanging out of his body and he cried in pain. I watched him scream and scream until he grew tired. He spent his last minutes whimpering in pain. It was bloody. I took the pleasure of breaking every bone in the body then cutting it up and burning it afterwards." Mr. Kaufman said, laughing crazily.

We stood there, speechless.

"You never expected your revenge to turn out this way. Helen thought that I would be helpful since I always seemed to be watching her and Mr. Keeler talk. But she was wrong; she knew never knew and never will. It came out all perfect. But, you guys had to go for revenge and mess it up. I was planning to ditch my identity and get a new one after I was finished with you guys. Quite surprising isn't it? I was behind it all. Not the revenge you thought you'll get. There's no need for revenge anyways. Revenge won't bring you anything. Helen's dead and she won't come back. It's as simple as that." Mr. Kaufman said, and gave a sinister laugh as the officers led him outside.

*****~~~~~*****

We had tape recorders with us that recorded everything Mr. Kaufman had said. The police officers were there and I believe they heard most of what Mr. Kaufman had said. There was enough to get him put away.

Author's Note: There you go, the prologue to the story. I know it doesn't have much suspense; the main point in this chapter is to tell new readers a summary of A Deadly Game of Vengeance and to refresh everybody that read the story just in case they kind of forgot. I have to admit, I kind of forgot a little too.
