Why must the world hold back the truths?
That we all know
But can't decide
If we want to believe them
Or not
Why can't we all just simply let go
Of all our faults
And those of others
To let the words flow free?
Why can't say what we really think-
Why can't you?
Why can't I?
Why can't we both share our dreams
And what we
Know we both feel
Inside?
Unless we've changed
In this brief time frame-
Too much to ever go back;
To return to the knowing
To return to the rapture
Joy
And bliss
That our lives once were
Long ago,
But are no longer
Because we've learned the world
And it's cruel ways
Of twisting peoples notions
Into thinking open-hearts-
Open-minds-
Aren't right?
Why must the world make us hide
IN the deep shadows of our
Own hearts
Far away from the people we would otherwise
Trust?
That we would admire, undaunted-
Without embarrassment
Or caution?
Why can't the world just step aside
So that we can both tell each other
The reality in our hearts?
So that I can know
If what I think
Is true

Probably not one of my better poems, but I read something that a friend
wrote and it got me to thinking. . .Anywho, I hope it made some impact,
even if it's just "What the heck? This is crap!" ^.~ All reviews are
