Squares of moonlight on my floor
Full moon through my window
I pace the room in thoughts so deep
And I'll wander evermore

The clock strikes twelve, a haunting sight
Comes fleeting through my mind
I reminisce of days of old
When everything seemed right

Old can be the times long passed
But can be the future too
Anything you once held dear
Through time's shattered glass

I see the look you gave me when I asked you to smile...
Fading
I see the look you gave me at the dance...
Disdaining
I see the sideways glance measuring my strength...
Testing
I feel the arrow piercing my shoulder...
Missing
I feel your arms around me...
Healing
I smell your sweet aroma
Clinging
I hear you tell me I'm offensive,
you give me empty greeting,
you teaching me my lesson,
you speaking without words,

And you I hear asking for a hug (and you too),
And you. I hear your melodious laughter,
Telling me you'll always be there, even if they won't
(But the fear of an unnamed horror hovers in my mind)

Squares of moonlight on my floor
Full moon through my window
I pace the room in thoughts so deep
I'll be haunted evermore.
