Delirium

The singed feathers slip away
Falling from these flightless wings
Smoking as they tilt and sway
I have lost everything

Blood trickles down my spine
Leaking from rusted hinges
Color fading in a steady decline
My heart locks up and constringes

A low wind stirs up the ashes
Of all the days long sense dreaming
The fragile notes of a piano crashes
Serenading, full of whispers and screaming

The stench of decaying earth
Pummeled by the rain
No sense of life or worth
Kept alive by the pain

Bound by gravity
A malevolent cage
Created by what's inside of me
Weakened with time and age
