Ash

I am decay;

I am blackness.

Be-slimed by the dark residing

In my flesh

Flakes of thick Evil

Slough off

Grow thicker

A hard, horny shell which oozes,

Bleeds

Caked on me

A shell of ashes

You.

Burn me

Cleanse me in fire

I rise, rennwed,

Free

A white flame am I

Unquenchable

In You

But.

I gutter

I die. I end.

I run out of fuel

The dark ashes of sin rise around me

Cloud my vision

Sticking my throat like dry, flaming tears

Destroyed

My sight, my breath, my wings

Crippled

Soil the brightness that was me

I can not fly

I will never fly

Never.

There s no beauty in Darkness,

And I must strain, struggle, to see your Light.
