Haven't put a poem up all week! Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, here's one that I wrote a few months ago. Not exactly sure when.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their Secret
There she goes walking by again, an empty shell of despair,
With the memories and demons residing in the tears of sorrow never there.
Her hidden cries sound in the night of lonliness longing and pain.
Only the moon shares the secret with her of how, when consumed with darkness, you go insane.
Hush the distant stars, they keep her awake at night.
Don't turn off the light, it keeps away her fright.
There's no need to understand her mind,
Just know that life has been unkind.
I wrote this about a friend of mine who has been in the dumps for a while. I was watching her walk down the hall one day at school and the first line came to me and I worked with it.
