Nite: Hey-lo. Nieni is not available at the moment, since she is currently freaking out over nothing, so I will be typing this chapter. peace sign muahahahaha.... (waves to Stevie and Chao)

Emily slaps at the legs of her jeans, knocking off most of the dirt that clung to them from the stump. Chancing a glance toward the hotel entrance, she sighs, relieved to see that Nite at least isn’t sending anymore evil looks. Tentatively, Emily walks up to the porch steps and inside to stop in front of the reception desk.

“Bye.”

“What?” Nite’s gaze snaps up from his newspaper to meet Emily’s

“I’m leaving.....”

Nite sneers, turning to go back inside his hotel. “I don’t care.”

“I didn’t expect you to.” Emily replies softly, not expecting him to hear. “Bye then.”

Stepping up onto the porch, she quickly grabs her jacket and heads down the dirt path until reaching the road. Squinting, Emily just barely makes out her car, just where she left it. ‘Well, it’s out of gas, so there’s no point in walking over there..... I should just keep walking till I find a gas station or something...’

“Where are you going to go?”

Emily jumps, whirling around to find Nite standing directly behind her. Brown eyes narrowing, she puts her hands on her hips. “That’s none of your business. What do you care anyway?”

“I don’t care.” Nite lifts an arm, examining one of the spiked bands around it. “I’m just curious as to where a fifteen year old child plans to go with a gasless car, no money, and the police searching for her.”

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll go wherever I want.” Emily mutters, turning her back to the goth boy.

Nite growls. “I thought so. You’re a lost, little, spoiled child with nowhere to go but home.”

“Shut up! You don’t know anything!”

“Don’t I, Emily?”

“SHUT UP!”

“I’ll shut up when you prove me wrong!”

“I don’t have to prove ANYTHING to you!” Emily snarls, her back still turned to Nite.

Wrapping her jacket tighter around herself, she trudges up to her car and pulls the front door open. Sliding in, she slams the metallic door shut again and locks it. A few minutes of digging between the seats brings a small pack of peanut butter crackers and Emily munches on them grumpily as she slouches down in the drivers seat.

“Cozy.”

Emily shrieks and drops her crackers when a very familiar and very unwelcome voice speaks from the back seat. Whipping her head around fast enough to crack her neck, Emily glares at the goth lounging behind her. “What the- Stop following me and GET THE HELL OUT OF MY CAR!”

“I somehow doubt that this is your car.” Nite replies coolly, watching the girl through half-lidded eyes as he leans back against a window and rests his heels against the opposite door. The small metal spikes on the bottom of his boots rip the leathery material covering the door’s interior. “Your parents' most likely.”

“It.... It is too mine! My pop bought it for me when I turn-“

“Ah, the woes of a teenage brat. Your daddy didn’t buy you a pretty enough car so you ran away?”

Emily breaths deeply through her nose, hands clutching the steering wheel until her knuckles turn white as she refuses to look back at the meddling hotel owner again. “No.”

“Then why?” Nite asks with a smirk, his eyebrow raised. The smirk grows when he sees Emily look at him with the mirror.

“Why the hell do you want to know? You don’t care.” Resting her head on the wheel, Emily sighs.

"I know I don't.... Let us just call it curiosity.”

“Go to hell!”

“Oh, I will not be dying any time soon. Hell isn’t a problem.” Nite smirks again, ruby eyes glinting with amusement when the girl growls dangerously. “Besides, your idea of Hell is much different than mine. I wouldn’t mind being locked in a room with my pets.”

“.... Fine. FINE.” Emily lunges for her door and slams it shut behind her as she begins walking. Within seconds, crunching footsteps confirm the other’s inability to take hints. The two simply walk in silence for five long minutes and soon Emily finds herself side-by-side with the source of her annoyance. Nite shakes his head when she suddenly swerves and runs through the bushes on the side of the road.

Emily stares disbelievingly at the run-down hotel in front her. ‘What the- we were going in the opposite direction! How did this happen!?’

“Lovely. I’m stuck with you now.” Nite sighs, moving past the dumbstruck girl and walking up to his building. Grunting with displeasure, he slumps down into his recliner. Emily follows warily and sits down on a porch step. Squinting suspiciously, she looks up at Nite.

“Stuck with me? What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means I have to give you a room. Go get your shit.”

Nieni: Doesn’t make sense yet, I know. Next chappy will begin to explain a few things.
