The Perfect sunset
Sitting here upon the beach
Down on the shore
All alone
Watching the tide turn
The waves crash down
In an ever constant symphony
Lulling me into a peaceful rest
As I watch the waves
And the sun
Slowly goes down
Turning the sky
A lovely shade
Of orange and red
Mixed with purple
It turns the sky
Into a painting
One to remember
Water reflects the dying sun
Flecks of gold
Fly from the crashing waves
And everything is perfect
The night begins to cool
And the sounds of seagulls
Begins to fade
As they retreat
To where ever they sleep
Sounds of the night
And wildlife
Begin to fill the dunes
I watch the sky
As the moon comes out
Perfectly white
Just like this perfect night
The waves are no longer within my sight
Hidden from me
By the darkness of the night
Yet I can still hear them
Their gentle crash
Against the sandy beach
