The rules don't apply when all is fair in love and war.

Trinity walked down the familiar hallway, she knew it by heart but why she knew it so well she didn't know. She was unsure of whose hallway she was walking down and where it was. Trinity was wearing a black negligee not her average sleepwear to say the least. The floor was ice cold to her bare feet as she padded along, there was a door at the end of the hall with a light on this was her destination.

After what seemed like an eternity she reached the door, which was standing slightly ajar. Trinity placed a long tapered hand on the knob slowly and silently pushing it open. A little yawn escaped her lips as she did so and she covered her mouth self consciously.

The room held a canopy bed with lacy see through white curtains hanging adrift. There was a vanity at the front of the bed with matching dark oak, it seemed so demure sitting innocently against the far wall. Straight from the door was a nook with a window, under it was a bench. The curtains covering the window were a bright white like the ones hanging off the bed only they weren't translucent.

Trinity moved forward and looked around but found the room desolate. She sat down silently at the vanity. A figure came up behind her; she could tell it was a man by his build though he was hidden by shadows.

"I have found you at last." He said softly, at this Trinity smiled kindly.

"Why have you come back? I thought when your face was revealed to me you would no longer haunt my dreams." She glanced at the man through the mirror. His hand rested on her shoulder, a sudden calm came over her.

"That face didn't belong to me." He said gently before he moved away. Trinity stood and walked over to the bed tiredly and laid down on its silky blankets. Everything seemed planned as if by some twisted fate this was reality, only in a different dimension. Like before the man appeared, the lights suddenly seemed dimmed as if by magic. Trinity for the first time noticed that candles were lit all over the room instead of an overhead light.

She felt the mattress bend under his weight as the man laid beside her. Trinity rolled onto her back and sighed trying to find slumber. The mysterious man rolled over to his side propping himself up with his elbow. His large hand slid over Trinity's silky smooth cheek. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes, she could make out most of his features but recognizing him was impossible. He seemed so familiar yet so foreign, he felt as if he belonged with her and yet he was so alien Trinity didn't know why he made her feel safe.

His eyes reflected the flames from a near by candle making them look as if there were flames in the dark cobalt blue depths. His head had a halo of curls at the bottom and both his ears were pierced with spike earrings.

"You are so familiar…who are you?" Trinity asked softly. A smile tugged at his lips at her naïve question.

Trinity was about to ask another question but he covered her mouth with his to stop her. Trinity's arm curled around his neck as the kiss continued. Her fingers played with a strand of his dark hair, the ends curling around her long tapered fingers. The man responded to her touch and moved his hands up her black negligee.

Later Trinity woke up next to the man. Her eyes widened and she quickly sat up. The man stirred at her movements and sat up his hair ruffled, a sweet smile covered his face. Her heart was pounding, things had gotten to heated earlier. Trinity licked her lips a thought coming to her mind. He tasted familiar, and her body recognized him and yet he refused to tell her who he was.

"Who are you?" She pleaded with a smile. A heavy sigh escaped him and his smile suddenly faded.

"Now we are bound, you need not know who I am you already have this knowledge." Trinity looked down and silently played with the sheets, with a nod she went to get up.

A small sound of protest escaped his lips as she moved away, she stopped glancing at him. A sad look came over him as he leaned over to kiss her.

"Someone will betray you soon, turn to me for comfort… good-bye my love." He whispered. Trinity tried to ask who would betray her but her surroundings went black before she had the chance.

Trinity's eyelids fluttered open and she glanced around, her room came into focus.

"How weird…that's the second time I've had a dream where that happened." She said thoughtfully. "I wonder who's going to betray me and why they would do something like that!" With a shrug she shook herself awake and grabbed a brush.

"Kyle! Come back here!" Trinity laughed as Kyle ran down the hallway shaking his head violently.

"No way!" Kyle stuck his tongue at Trinity and she glared.

"Oh that's it!" Trinity sprinted down the hall after Kyle he started laughing but stopped as Trinity came closer. He tried to get out of the way but lost his balance and tried to regain it. Trinity crashed into him and they fell into the school fountain.

"Oops?" Was all Trinity could say to the principle after the incident.

"Oops? Oops!" Mr. Tuner was furious at the two giggling seniors in his office.

"It's almost Christmas we couldn't help a little fun . . ." Kyle said finally. The principle just got madder at that statement.

"You want to tell me about the Holidays!?" Trinity flinched. "Those fish are from when this school first started and they are irreplaceable! You also chipped off a part of the statue!" He said holding up a finger, making Trinity giggle. "Next time I hear about the two of you your expelled."

"What?" Kyle asked enraged. "You can't expel us for that! There isn't another school in this god forsaken town where either one of us could graduate!" A thought entered Trinity's mind just then. 'Why is he here and … where are his parents?' Trinity shook off the feeling and quickly got back into the conversation.

"Precisely."

"You're plotting against us now?" Trinity asked. "Your making me really paranoid and that's not good for teens . . ."

"Don't be a smart ass Miss Blake."

"I don't think you should be cussing Mr. Tuner." Was Trinity's curt come back. "Now if you'll excuse me I'll be calling my mother." Jenny was a very influential woman for the school district and she could get Mr. Tuner fired. Trinity quickly got her cell phone out and dialed her mother's phone at the Art Gallery.

"Hey mom its me I'm in the principles office. Mmm hmm yep… oh me and Kyle fell into the fountain and Mr. Turner is cussing at us. Yeah I'd like you to come down to the school. Thanks mom, bye!"

"Well just make a mess of things Miss Blake why don't you."

"Okay, I will!" Trinity smiled cheerily.

"Mr. Turner if I may comment I don't believe you have any reason to detain us until the arrival of Mrs. Blake. Therefore I suggest you let us go before this gets any worse." Kyle said smoothly.

"Mr. Anniston I don't believe that I am permitted to let you go."

"Your not sport hunting here, I doubt it'd be a bigger pain to you than keeping us here having to listen to us whine." Kyle said smiling. Trinity looked at him and then at the Mr. Turner.

"I have to go to the bathroom…" She said quietly and Kyle started laughing.

"I need to go to my locker, I know I forgot something…"

"No really! I have to go….really bad!" Trinity said truthfully and started wiggling. Mr. Turner rolled his eyes and waved them off.

"Go before I change my mind." He sighed tiredly. Trinity felt bad but what could she do he was the one being a bitch not her.

"Thanks Mr. Turner." He looked up surprised but said nothing as Trinity shut his door silently. Once they were far enough away Kyle and Trinity burst out laughing.

"Oops…haha!" Kyle smiled.

"Guess we should wait for mom huh…"

"You actually called her?" Kyle asked disbelieving.

"Well if I didn't then I'd be like getting expelled for deceitfulness or something." Trinity bit her lip and looked thoughtfully at the huge grassy lawn in front of the school. She yawned and sat down on the steps leaning her head against the concrete steps.

"Hey sleepy wake up your mom's here…" Trinity woke up startled, 'I actually went to sleep?'

"Holy moley cow…I was asleep?" Kyle gave a crooked smile as he hauled her up.

"Wow…" She yawned again. "I'm really sleepy." Trinity shook my head quickly and smiled.

"So what exactly did you guys do?" Jenny asked wearily and Kyle smiled, took in a big breath and started explaining.

"Well we fell into the school fountain by accident and Mr. Turner flipped out cause the fish are "traumatized" or something I donno really…" Kyle gave her the details and Jenny rolled her eyes.

"I'll take care of it." She said with a sigh. "Anything else I should know?"

"Well, hmm lets see…oh yeah! Mr. Turner said that if there was another incident even a minor one we'd be expelled but you know," He waved it off. "Nothin, incredibly big." Jenny's eyes went wide before her face turned stormy. She quickly thanked Kyle for explaining and told Trinity to go home if she was tired before stomping off towards the principles office.

"Hey Kyle…" She said getting up.

"Yea?"

"I was wondering… is all fair in love and war?" He smiled.

"Yes." Trinity nodded and smiled.

"What do you think?" He called after her.

"I say nothing is fair in love and war!" He laughed loudly at her disagreement.

Before going home Trinity decided to take a detour and sit in the park for a while. With a yawn she settled in the grass on her belly with her arms crossed above her head so it could rest on them. She was almost asleep when a car whizzed by, she heaved herself up thinking this wasn't the place to go to sleep at. After stretching she turned to go back the way she'd come when an black motorcycle caught her eye. The owner had his helmet on and seemed to be watching her.

"That's impossible he could be looking at just about anything." Trinity said to herself for comfort. "That is if he really is a he, because it could be a she I guess but I stereotyped the person on the bike and thought automatically that he was a guy. Which he is, I think. Oh I don't know!" She said exasperated with herself. "Now he'll think I'm crazy over here talking to myself." With that she shut her mouth and started walking past the man/woman on the bike watching the person out of the corner of her eye. With a yawn she brushed back her blonde hair that came to the middle of her back. She'd put white highlights in it the past summer and the sun had done the rest.

"Trinity wait up!" Trinity stopped dead in her tracks and started to look around. "I thought that was you but I wasn't sure!" When Trinity caught sight of the person she leaned against a tree as the man with the helmet walked or rather jogged up. She could tell that the owner of the bike really was a guy now that he was up and walking. With a swift motion the man pulled the helmet off revealing a broad smile.

"Dustin! I had no idea it was you!" A thought occurred to her suddenly. "But aren't you sposed to be in school?"

"I should say the same to you." He shot back with a grin.

"I'm excused from school I'm going home to sleep." A concerned look came over Dustin's face when she mentioned sleep.

"You okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine I just didn't really sleep well last night. I don't really know why I guess I'm just stressed about school and all."

"Oh…okay." Dustin bit his lip as if nervous.

"So what are you doing out of school?" Dustin shrugged.

"Being a bad influence." He smirked and nodded his head once as if to say 'I'm the man'.

"Oh don't you even!" Trinity shook her head and laughed at him. "You think your so great don't you?" Dustin considered a moment.

"Yep." He grinned at his one word answer.

"Whatever." Trinity shook her head and started to walk off but Dustin grabbed her arm and pulled her back. His face was serious as he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. She closed her eyes savoring his sweet kiss, her arms hooking loosely around his neck.

"I'm sorry…" He whispered when he finally brought his head up. His eyes were still closed when Trinity looked at his face. "I…I know your with Kyle I just…" He gave her a confused look. Trinity tilted her head to the side and gave a small smile, she went up on tip toe and kissed him back.

"Mmm you're a great kisser…" He said with a smile.

"Don't you tell anyone about that." She pointed a warning finger at him. His face had turned serious but she could see a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Your hopeless!" She hit him on the shoulder and crossed her arms.

"OW!" He laughed, he glanced at his bike and gave her a sly smile. "Wanna go for a ride?" She considered his offer and nodded suddenly a smile spreading over her lips.

"I have to be back before 2:30 I'm supposed to be sleeping remember?" She gave a yawn as if she'd just remembered.

"Yeah, yeah!" He quickly handed her a matching black helmet and slid onto his Electra Glide.

Trinity laughed as she climbed off the running bike, her legs were numb from hanging on too tight. Dustin teased her about being so paranoid about falling off but she rolled her eyes in protest.

"That one curve was really tight I seriously thought we'd like fly off!"

"Fine! Next time I'll let you have a go alright? Then you'll see it's not so bad!" Dustin crossed his arms in defense of his precious motorcycle.

"Like I said before you are completely hopeless!"

"I thought you never repeated yourself either?" Dustin smiled as Trinity's face became void of expressions. She turned on her heel in defeat and walked up to her door.

"Bye Trin!" She threw her hand out over her shoulder in weak reply. When she opened her door she turned and smiled.

"You did what!" Missy gave her a shocked expression, she'd been laying on Trinity's bed her legs swinging in the air before she told her about the kiss and the afternoon ride through town.

"Yea I know! I feel horrible I guess I should tell Kyle when I see him next…" Missy shook her head quickly.

"No, this would ruin you guys besides its not like Dustin's gunna tell anyone. If there's one thing he can do it's keep a secret believe me I know!" Trinity gave her a curious look.

"What secret is he keeping?"

"Ionno." She commented calmly before returning to her YM magazine. Trinity rolled her eyes but dropped the subject as she popped in a Remix CD, she wasn't sure what was on it but she didn't really care.

"We should go shopping…" Missy said suddenly, Trinity smiled and nodded enthusiastically.

"I've been saving up for a while to go on a spree but just haven't picked a date! Let's tell mom we're going to the Mall!" They did just that, after telling her mom Trinity grabbed her purse that held her ATM card and hopped into her car slamming its blue door behind her.

"We need to stop at my house, I need to grab a few things before we go."

"What do you need we've got your purse, what else could a girl need!" Missy smiled and shook her head.

After entering the Mall the girls decided to check out a few clothing stores.

"OH HEY! Lets go over to Urban first!" Missy suggested and Trinity smiled quickly going up the moving stairs to the 2nd floor. After modeling themselves in the changing rooms they walked out laughing.

"How about…we head on over to Clare's its just right there." Trinity pointed a finger to the store.

"Okay…" Trinity gave missy a look.

"Whats up?"

"Nothin why?" Missy said tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"I can tell you don't want to go to Clare's." Trinity said as a man bumped into her. "JERK!" She yelled after him.

"Hahaha…yeah I've just… I donno." Missy said absently messing with her ears. Trinity brush Missy's hand away from her ear and looked at it in surprise.

"Your ears aren't pierced!" She nodded sheepishly.

"I have to use the clip on thingy ma-bobs, sucks."

"You know what?" Trinity said guiltily. "I've never noticed." Missy laughed. "Hmm c'mon!" Trinity grabbed her by the wrist and drug her over to Clare's, after waiting in line she came up to the woman at the cash register; her name tag read Carrie "I was wondering if we could get a piercing done?" Carrie smiled.

"This way." She led the two girls over to a chair in the back of the room and told them to sit down.

"You first." Trinity said to Missy.

"But… well does it hurt?" Trinity laughed.

"Not really actually you'll see!" There was a loud noise coming from outside the small store and the two looked up in surprise. They saw Dustin and Cameron talking outside the store.

"HEY!" Trinity yelled. "Dustin!" He looked around in surprise. "Over here." He looked straight at her a smile spreading across his face.

"Hey, what might you two fine ladies be doing on a very sunny afternoon like this?"

"Shopping." Dustin rolled his eyes.

"As usual." Trinity looked him up and down.

"Excuse me, what is that supposed to mean?" If looks could kill, he'd be dead.

"Nothing just girls usually shop. A lot. Now what exactly are you shopping for in here?" His curious tone was unmistakable.

"Uh-huh…" She coughed, "Steryotyper!" and coughed again.

"Say what." Trinity gave an innocent look and glanced around.

"I didn't say anything.. did, did you hear me say anything?" She turned to Missy who shrugged and gave a thoughtful look.

"I'm getting my ears pierced." Missy said finally, with a weak smile.

"Oh really? Cool I want to get my ears pierced again…" He said thoughtfully, he already had each ear pierced.

"Oh well you can go first if you want!" Missy said jumping out of the chair. Dustin smiled and shrugged sitting down as Carrie walked up.

"Alright, you first?" She smiled at Dustin, the gun in her hand.

"I guess so." He said cheerfully, she adjusted the gun on his ear and pulled the trigger. She switched sides and repeated her actions. Missy jumped each time but Dustin didn't even flinch.

"That didn't even hurt Missy, it's not that bad." Dustin said putting the new earrings in his ears.

"If your sure…" She said still looking skeptically at the gun firmly gripped in the Carrie's right hand. She was readying it for the next person. Missy prepped herself and sat down, Carrie smiled offering her a stress ball which she took readily. Trinity held her hand as the lady tightened it up to her earlobe and pulled the trigger, Missy just sat tensely as if waiting.

"That was it?" Missy said as Carrie switched ears. "I thought you were just tightening it up to my ear!" Trinity laughed, and gave her an 'I told you' look.

"That was it honey." Carrie said standing back after putting earrings in Missy's ears. Trinity sat down in the chair after Missy and waited a few minutes.

"I wanted to get my ears double pierced and get the top right done," She pointed to the tip of her ear. "I was wondering do you guys give belly piercing?" Carrie smiled even broader and nodded.

"We sure do hun!" She said popping her gum. She quickly pierced her ears and handed her earrings, then she laid the chair back so Trinity was laying down. Trinity pulled up her shirt to where her rib cage started.

"Okay you ready?" Carrie said.

"Totally!" Trinity said as Carrie got ready herself. After she'd pierced her belly button and put the belly ring in. Trinity sat up too admired Carrie's handy work.

After paying for their purchases the trio walked out, Cameron had walked off saying he had to be somewhere so Dustin was at the mall by himself.

"We should go to Old Navy…" Trinity said thinking out loud.

"What are we waiting for?" Missy said excitedly, Dustin gave a groan.

"Oh ya big baby, if it makes you feel any better I'll model for you okay?" Trinity rolled her eyes as Dustin perked up.

"Okay which way!" Missy and Trinity laughed in unison at his quick change of mood.

"To your right," Dustin went left. "Your other right!"

"OOPS!"

"HA! Your such a loser! That is sooo tacky!" Trinity laughed as Dustin walked out of the dressing room to show them the outfit he'd picked out.

"Well fine then you pick something!"

"Okay I will!"

Within ten minutes Trinity had picked out, a black shirt with white papyrus writing on the front.

"Uh I said a whole outfit not a shirt." Dustin criticized they were waiting with their purchases when Trinity walked out to join them.

"Don't worry smarty pants I'm not done!" The walked over to Pacsun and Trinity got a pair of dark blue baggy pants with big pockets, it came with a chain for a wallet. She and Missy bought some fitted tank tops and shorts and walked out.

"You almost done?" Trinity rolled her eyes.

"Okay you know what why don't you go do whatever guys do and in…" Trinity paused looking at her watch. "Thirty minutes let's meet back here and you can try on your new outfit in the Old Navy dressing room okay?" Dustin considered and nodded.

"Okay cya in half an hour." He walked off.

"So where to next?" Missy inquired.

"I'm thinking shoe store!" They laughed. They walked over to Vans and quickly scanned over their options. Only after Missy had held up Dustin's new clothes did Trinity decide which pair of shoes she liked best.

They chose a pair of black skater shoes size 13, the laces were dark navy blue. The pattern on the bottom spelled Oasis. They also purchased anklet socks for guys, Trinity cut off all the tags from the shoes with scissors from Vans. She then opened the socks and stuffed a pair into the shoes and put them in the same bag as the guy clothes.

"Okay… uh… hat?" Missy smiled and ran back into Pacsun and purchased a black hat and stuffed it into the bag that Trinity held.

"I know the perfect thing to go with it!" Missy said and walked off in a quick pace, Trinity had to work to keep up. The two bought a metal ball necklace, with a smile they headed back to Old Navy.

"There you are I've been waiting here forever!" Dustin complained. Trinity rolled her eyes and handed over the shopping bag.

"Holy…this is a lot of crap!"

"Yea now go try it on, show us then tell me what you think!" Trinity smiled.

They waited for over twenty minutes outside the men's dressing room before they started to get worried. They finally asked a sales man if he could check on their friend. He readily went into the changing room and his voice could be heard as the two talked, but what they said couldn't be distinguished.

"Sir?" The man named Troy asked. "Is everything alright?"

"Uh…yeah…" Dustin said walking out. "Do you think this looks stupid?" He frowned. The man stepped back and looked him over.

"No, you look like a regular teenage punk." He said cheerfully.

"Not preppy?" Troy shook his head slightly as if confused.

"Is something wrong with the merchandise?"

"Oh no … I just didn't want to look dumb if I actually kept this outfit, a girl bought it." He said as if that explained everything.

"Ah…I see." Troy smiled and walked out.

"Okay…I'm coming out!" Dustin said in early warning.

"Wow, hey we did pretty good!" Missy said surveying Dustin. He smiled and looked around but didn't see Trinity.

"Where's monkey butt?" He asked curiously.

"Oh she saw a … shirt she thought might look good on her and I told her to try it on. She'll be out any second."

"Okay Missy come here!" Trinity called from the girls changing room. Missy quickly walked in and smiled. The black shirt was sleeveless it had two slashes that went across her belly and showed off her new ring. Missy pulled at the top of the shirt and found it stuck to Trinity pretty firmly.

"You know what? It looks really good!" Trinity blushed.

"Really? I don't look like… a slut or anything?" Missy shook her head.

"HEY! I want to see!" Dustin whined from around the corner. The two girls laughed and walked out. Dustin's face went serious for a moment when Trinity first came out and turned around, when she shrugged Dustin gave a smile.

"Looks pretty good!" He said wiggling his eyebrows.

"AHGH! Is that all you think about?!" Trinity said going back to change into her regular shirt.

"Actually…" He said with a laugh.

"Stop right there I can figure out the rest!" Trinity walked out and over the cash register where she purchased the shirt and a two pairs of Capri's, one white and one black.

"We should get something to eat." Missy said with a yawn. It was nearly 6 o'clock and they were getting hungry.

"Yeah c'mon lets go to the food court." Dustin suggested. When they got to the top floor they looked over their choices. Dustin headed over to Burger king while Trinity and Missy both went to Subway. Once they'd ordered they found a table and ate, the girls then looked through their bags and compared.

"You know your gunna have to let me borrow that, or better yet lets go back and I'll get one!" Trinity said when Missy held up a pink shirt that was bunched up on the top and the sleeves went around her shoulders showing them off.

"Okay! Oh and we still haven't gone to Nordstrom's that's our last stop." Trinity shook her head.

"I have to buy a new CD player remember?" Dustin watched as the two girls talked shop talk.

"I can go and get you the CD player while you two go over to Nordstrom's then we can all meet up for ice cream later?" The two girls looked at each other and mutually agreed this was the best plan. Trinity handed Dustin some money and gave a time they'd meet. The girls headed over to Nordstrom's to grab a few items and then headed back to a previous store to buy a matching shirt only instead of pink it was white.

"Okay we have five minutes to get over to the ice cream stand thing." Missy commented looking at an overhead clock. Trinity looked at her cell phone and grimaced.

"Hey I need a new phone, and I'd like to buy a couple covers, lets go over to that electronics stand and get one." Trinity suggested.

"You know I think I'm going to get a cell phone, but I don't know if I can afford to pay the monthly rate." She said skeptically.

"You can buy phone cards, dial in the number and then you get however many you pay for, its so much cheaper!" Trinity gave her advice.

"I didn't know you could do that!" Trinity nodded. "Okay I'm going to do that!"

"So how's your new job? The one at Frankie's, with that fine waiter friend of yours?" Trinity laughed when Missy blushed.

"It's pretty good I mean you know how it is." Missy gave her a look. "Anyway Josh said we should hang out sometime." Trinity gave her a happy shocked expression.

"REALLY!" They jumped up and down together. "Wow I can't believe it good for you!"

"I was shocked when he told me but really happy, oh I hope I didn't blush!" Missy said anxiously. By this time they'd reached the stand and Trinity began to talk to the sales man that sat at the computer. It took them ten minutes to set Missy up with a phone and for Trinity to get exactly what she wanted.

They got matching black phones that were 2" by 2" the kind that snapped shut. After finishing up and buying a few phone cards they rushed over to the ice cream stand and looked around for Dustin. They waited for five minutes before Dustin came strutting up. While they waited though they had time to figure out their phones, Missy had downloaded the mission impossible theme music for her ring while Trinity had asked for something a little more… special. She'd gotten the my little pony theme song downloaded onto her cell phone; she clapped her hands when Missy called her and it started playing.

"WHOA! Hey this game is pretty cool!" Missy said going through her games menu.

"Hahaha! Yeah I personally like Snake2 the best." Missy nodded in agreement.

"Hey whoa cell phone's that…match?" Dustin came up behind the two glancing over their shoulders.

"Oh yeah we stopped and got cell phone stuff." They smiled. Dustin gave a sheepish grin.

"Me too." He handed over his new cell phone, it had a nice leather case.

"Ooolala!" Trinity said looking through it. "Classy!"

"Yeah… so what kind of ice cream are we getting?" Dustin asked suddenly.

Trinity ordered a cookie dough ice cream cone, Missy got a Mint chocolate chip, and Dustin got a little bit of everything. Trinity looked on in disgust as he licked away, Missy rolled her eyes and turned to Trinity gagging. They burst out laughing and Dustin was left none the wiser.

"Hey stay here I'm gunna go to the bathroom but I don't want to lose you!" Missy laughed rushing off.

Trinity giggled watching her friend run away, she started whistling and licked her ice cream cone. She looked so innocent sitting on the bench her hair in a messy bun and her white Old Navy shirt. Dustin was standing off a ways just looking around as he ate his ice cream in peace. She licked her ice cream cone again before she caught site of Kyle. She smiled and called his name but he seemed distracted, she stood up and waved.

He was smiling but not at her, he turned and wrapped his hand around a girls shoulder. Trinity frowned but decided to reserve her judgment until she found out what he was doing. Trinity and Kyle at one point had both known this girl so she was sure nothing was going to happen that shouldn't. Of course though she'd jinxed herself thinking this way because, Kyle leaned over smoothly and kissed the girl. Trinity blinked a few times not believing it but while she was starring dumbfounded he kept kissing her.

As if a knife had just plunged into her stomach she gasped and her breath came short, she took a shuddering breath trying to clear her suddenly hazy head. Missy walked up behind her and started talking.

"Hey Trinity! I thought we could go over to the electronics section, I have a CD I wanted to grab…Trinity? Hey… are you okay?" Missy asked suddenly as if she'd just noticed her friend was standing stalk still starring across the room. Dustin walked over and frowned at Trinity before following her gaze to the kissing couple.

"Trinity…I… I'm sorry…" Dustin said as Trinity dropped her ice cream cone. She took in a shuddering breath and tried to clear her head once more. Time seemed to slow down as Kyle lifted his head and smiled down at the girl Trinity knew as Misty. Kyle had dated her for years before they'd broken up for Misty cheating on him. He'd been crushed at the rejection but he only sulked for a few days before he was back to his old self. It seemed though whenever Misty was around he was moody, and confused.

Kyle glanced around and caught site of the Trio staring at him, he noticed Missy who had a 'What the heck' look on her face. Dustin stood next to her with a 'What the fuck' look on his face and then he saw her. She looked totally crushed, her eyes were wide and she looked as if she was ready to cry, there was an ice cream cone he could tell had been dropped by her. She shook her head as if something was wrong with her vision and stumbled back and fell into Dustin who wrapped his arms around her as if protecting her. She turned around and into him her body shaking violently; Dustin seemed to be talking words of comfort to her.

"SHIT!" Kyle said running up to them before he arrived Dustin turned putting his back between Kyle and Trinity. Dustin stood stalk still and in his way of getting to Trinity. Dustin paid him no heed and kept whispering words to Trinity as she continued to shed tears. Dustin looked up, glaring his look anything but friendly. Dustin whispered something to Trinity and she stepped away from him a sniff could be heard. Kyle saw Dustin's fist before he stumbled back. "What the hell was that for?" Kyle asked holding his nose which surprisingly hadn't been broken.

"For what do you think its for! Look at her Kyle!" Kyle glanced away. "Look at her god damn it!" Dustin said angrily. Kyle closed his eyes and lifted his head, when he opened them again they settled on her face down cast and tear stained. Missy was holding her shoulders but Trinity was just standing there limp her glazed look was directed toward the ground. "Look what you fucking did, she was happy all day long. She kept talking about you Kyle… she kept saying too bad Kyle's not here… am I neglecting him? Should I call my boyfriend." Dustin said as he pointed to Trinity.

"What are you her bodyguard? God Dustin just because you jealous that I'm dating her…" Dustin punched him again this time the crunch of cartilage was heard and Missy jumped and gave a little scream, Trinity flinched and gave a shudder.

"Yeah I like her you got a problem with that? She my god damned friend of course I like her; but I think I'm the one who went spent the day with her. I doubt you'll be dating her for long. I mean it's not my decision no… but at the way Trinity works from my knowledge she doesn't like cheaters… not even in a game she'll never play with that person again… you and I both know she won't ever talk to you again." Dustin hissed.

"Shit…" Kyle said through his bleeding nose. The blood dripped steadily on the tile flooring people were starting to stare.

"Bloody nose…" Dustin said and they began to disperse. "I better not see you any where near her you understand?" He growled; he went over to Trinity putting his hands on her face. "You okay?" He whispered, she looked at him with a shell shocked expression on her face as if what she'd witnessed was still sinking in. Dustin brushed his bloody hand over her cheek. Misty was standing a few feet off.

"I didn't know Trinity… I didn't know you were… dating." She said quietly.

"Shut up!" Trinity finally spoke when she did everyone was startled at what she had to say. "We all knew you have a soft spot for him… no matter what you say you've always wanted him back!" Trinity hissed at her. "You… whore!" Misty took a step back shocked, Trinity had never cussed in front of her. "What, you don't think you are? Well let me tell you something Misty! You go through guys like water… you sell yourself to make people like you… you are a whore Misty get over yourself!" Trinity sniffed. "I hate you… I hate you both!" Her voice cracked as she yelled at Kyle who looked back, gazing at her emotional state. "You…" She laughed. "You who said every time you could how much I supposedly meant to you… what happened? Huh cat got your… your freaking tongue." She ran a hand through her blonde hair and laughed. "I… I… I'm sooo sorry I wasn't good enough for you… I …" She made a few hand gestures trying to figure things out. "What did I do?" Trinity asked softly her anger gone, a fresh stream of tears flowing down her cheeks. "I mean…" She shrugged another sniff broke their silence. "Is it something I said… or something I did or… or didn't do?" While no one was watching Dustin's face contorted in pain as he held his hand. Wincing in pain from the punch he'd given.

"No…you did nothing wrong." Kyle said softly his eyes looking at her face as it contorted when he told her. He moved forward to touch her arm but she flinched away, sobbing harder.

"D-don't … don't touch m-m-me." She stumbled back and jogged away from him her hands covering her face. Missy quickly followed after her grabbing a shopping bag. Dustin grabbed the rest of the shopping bags and pointed a warning finger at Kyle.

"I'll be watching you." He said with a deadly glare at Kyle who just seemed to wilt.

Trinity laid in her car lost in a daze when Missy and Dustin ran up, they seemed relieved to find her. Trinity was laying in the back of her car her feet hanging out the open door. The sky light was open and she seemed to be starring off into space. Missy sat in the drivers seat watching her wishing she could do something to help Trinity's obvious pain.

Trinity started laughed and then stopped as suddenly as she'd started with a sigh, it sounded like she was fighting more tears. She glanced at Missy who gave a sympathetic smile back.

"Why? Is it punishment for kissing Dustin?" Trinity's voice was barely a whisper, she was looking at the sky again.

"No…you only kissed Dustin you did nothing like this. Look… I know I should've told you but… I kind've saw them together before. I mean I didn't know they were together like that. They were heading into… um…" She glanced around nervously. "Well a hotel." Trinity shook her head.

"I should've known… Kyle is just not like that usually. Lately though he's been all weird like… too good to be true. Heh… I guess no guy ever has a chance… if the all loyal Kyle can't keep his hands on one girl at a time." Missy laughed, everyone knew Kyle was a very faithful person.

"Who was she…?" Missy asked gently.

"Her name is Misty, she's the most gorgeous and sought after girl in Hemmington, hence the use of whore, and of course the surrounding schools… with a reputation like that she always kept her public pleased. Meaning she was always with more than one guy, hence the use of whore…well she fell for Kyle's charm and wit but her ways didn't change. When he found out he confronted her and in the end they broke up; but Kyle can't resist her and has more than once gone back." She explained. "He may be faithful but he's got a weak spot for her and she knows it."

"I'm sorry Trinity… I guess you guys are finished huh?" Her hurt eyes watched Trinity close her eyes and she admired how strong she was.

"Yeah… I guess so." Was all she could say before Dustin walked up, a blood mark was smeared across his chin. He'd just put their stuff in her trunk. "Sorry I left… I should've thought about the stuff…" Dustin waved it off.

"Ah! No harm done." Trinity tried to smile but stopped her face turning serious.

"I think I want to go home…" She closed her eyes and sighed. Dustin watched her for a few minutes, he wanted to comfort her but he couldn't when Missy was watching. It would be too awkward, even if he was comforting her as a friend. After his dream about her she'd been on his mind 24/7 and he couldn't shake her.

"I'll drive the car and…" Missy glanced at Trinity, Dustin would want to talk to her. "She can ride with you." Missy said turning around, Dustin helped Trinity out of the car and placed a helmet on her head. His arms went around her shoulders and led her to his bike, when she sat down Dustin turned to Missy who was leaning out the window.

"I'll follow behind you." Dustin pulled on his helmet.

"Kay…" Missy put the car into drive and quickly exited the parking lot. Dustin sighed and blew out his breath, he quickly pulled his helmet over his head. He glanced at her as she sat huddled on the bike before he climbed on. She leaned on his back, wrapping her hands around his waist. Under different circumstances he might find this a perfect setting to be with a girl but this was different. The bike roared to life, and the two sped down the freeway after Missy.

As they neared Trinity's house, Dustin swerved off the highway and headed towards the park. Even after he'd stopped Trinity didn't stir, he could feel her shaking behind him. With a sigh he took of his helmet and turned in his seat.

"Trinity…" She sniffed and released him her arms drooping at her sides. He got off the bike and watched as she sat still as if she didn't have the energy or the will to move. "Trinity… it's not your fault…" She gave a snort of reply.

"I don't understand…" Dustin sighed and looked at the ground.

"Neither do I…" He bit his lip as Trinity sighed as she took off her helmet. Tear's stained her cheeks but it seemed none were flowing at the moment.

"He's such a jerk… I can't believe he did that to you." His thumb stroked her cheeks rubbing away the silver tear tracks. "You deserve so much better."

Trinity scoffed. "Who would give someone like me a second glance?" She turned her head away her hair swaying.

"I would, and there's plenty of guys at the school that would love to date you. Their just really shy about it because c'mon look at you…your are one fine-" Trinity gave him a look that stopped him. Quickly revising he started again. "Your like the prettiest girl at school."

"I guess this is like me kissing you only it was him. I should probably tell him I mean … I cheated first." She cringed. She'd never cheated on anybody before.

"Yeah but was anybody around? That doesn't make it any better but, he did it shamelessly in front of the whole town. I mean he even told me he was screwing her." His eyes widened suddenly and he looked ashamed.

"Come again? I think I heard you wrong." Dustin averted his eyes, suddenly she stood and took his face in her hands forcing him to look at her. "You knew that Kyle was cheating on me…and you never told me!?" He nodded slowly.

"I caught him in the locker room with her but he said he was going to stop, that it was just on impulse and I believed him." He paused.

"Oh god." She breathed putting a hand over her mouth.

"I didn't think anything of it after that. He told me everything he'd done and I blackmailed him that if he didn't split it off I was going to tell you."

"No…no, no, no!" Shaking her head she stumbled back into the bike tripping over it she landed on her butt on the other side. "Oof!" She rolled over onto her stomach.

"I'm so sorry Trin, I should've told you," Dustin was now crouching next to her, Trinity lay there her face down with her hair covering her face. "I feel so guilty." His face was sincere, shaking his head in confusion he sat down. Taking a deep breath and letting it out he looked up at the sky.

"It's all my fault, he's getting me back. That must be it." She stated finally sitting up. "He knows about you and me he has to." She searched his face for some clue of what to do. "I want to go home." Her gaze was sheltered by her glistening lashes and her sad face made her look so innocent. Dustin gave in. Reaching out he pulled her into his lap and kissed the top of her head.

"Trinity… when your over with everything… um," He couldn't do it. Asking her out in a time like this was going to be the biggest mistake of his dating career and he well knew it.

"I never told you this before, but I've dreamt of you." Trinity interrupted. "I think it's you anyway," She curled her arm around his neck and leaned against his neck her head turned to the side. "It was a bad dream though, I mean not like a nightmare but we did bad stuff." She smiled self-consciously. "You said that someone would betray me… and now someone has. I wonder how you knew. Sorry, I'm not crazy I promise." Dustin laughed deeply.

"You know… I had a dream like that. You were in my house, my moms old room." He mused more to himself than anything. "You were so beautiful, that black negligee…god."

"You better not be hard." She stated more as a joke.

"Sorry." He said self-consciously. "But damn, Trin you clean up good." Smiling he continued with the dream. "The candles cast this eerie glow, you seemed so lost. You got up after a while and went to the bed. I joined you and…." He stopped his arms tightening around her. "Well you can guess." He said wickedly.

"Oh my god, I think we had the same dream!" She looked up her eyes wide. "After I woke up you looked so cute with ruffled hair and your sweet smile. I asked who you were for the second time and you said we were bonded or something and that I already knew who you were. I figured it out because you tasted the same as you did in real life." Dustin wanted to draw back but was mesmerized by the thought that they might've shared the same dream.

"I had it a night or two ago." Trinity nodded fervently. "So we're like, psychic buddies! How cool!" A smile formed on his lips.

"You are too weird Dustin, you've been reading too many fortune cookies." Rolling his eyes he stood up and held out a hand to help her up. Grabbing his helmet he replied.

"Whatever we had the same dream, so sue me if I'm slightly excited that I had dream sex with you okay." He said malevolently. Trinity stuck her tongue out at him. "Don't stick your tongue out unless you intend to use it." He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Talk about a one track mind, lets go I want to go to bed." Trinity sighed.

Missy's mother called an hour after they'd arrived saying that her Uncle Tom was in the hospital and they were all flying down to see him. He was in critical condition and he might not make it. Missy sadly said goodbye to her best friend.

"I would stay here and help out… but…" Trinity waved her off, she was in her pajamas a pint of cookie dough ice cream in her lap.

"Tom needs you more than I do…" She smiled and waved her spoon at Missy who laughed and put her own ice cream in the freezer. Dustin was sitting across the table drinking a pop, he glanced up as Missy got off the phone and said goodbye to Trinity.

"When will you be back?" Trinity asked Missy who shrugged in response. "Ah… I see."

"Yeah… but soon I hope. He had a heart attack and is in critical condition… the doctors said if he's going to die it would be in a few days if not he'd stabilize in a few days… so its like 50/50." Missy said sadly.

"Well I hope he's okay." Trinity said sympathetically, they'd talked to Tom on the phone a few times and he was a cool guy.

"Me too…" Missy said grabbing her newly bought stuff. "If you need me call my cell!" She smiled.

"Yeah okay…your number is memorized!" Trinity quickly recited it and Missy laughed nodding.

"Good job! Okay I have to go my plane leaves in half hour." She glanced the clock on Trinity's microwave.

"Need a ride?" Dustin asked suddenly.

"Really?" He nodded. "Oh thank you!" She quickly hugged Trinity and said goodbye.

"Bye?" Trinity called out, in a lost voice after the two as they rushed outside.

A month later

She popped in "Someone like you" she liked the girls theory and thought it was correct. It was the "Cow theory" (now if you haven't seen "Someone like you" you won't really get it) but it basically said that a bull will mate once with a cow and then it will never touch her again. It becomes the old cow and moves onto newer and more interesting females.

"I'm the old cow…" She whispered in awe. Just then the door opened and Dustin walked in, he glanced at the movie and gave her a look which she returned innocently.

"Don't even… think that I don't know what this movie is about!" He gave her a stern look and turned it off. "Don't torture yourself, like my sister did when she made me watch this." Trinity smiled. "Your not the old cow… now put your ice cream away." Trinity threw the empty container in the trash and set her spoon on her nightstand to be put away later. Dustin sat on her bed and gave her a serious look.

"It's not your fault you know…" Trinity nodded her head as tears filled up her eyes.

"Why?" She started crying and Dustin curled up in her bed next to her and put his arms around her shoulders letting her cry into his shoulder.
