It had been two weeks since Tru left Rolling Hills Boarding School. Now she was back home in Australia. She had heard several times from Ava already and had even heard from Nani once. Nani had said that she and her family had moved back to Hawaii. Nani even said that she was giving up on being a mediator. She had realized that there were so many spirits who needed help and she just wasn’t strong enough to help them all. Tru felt sorry that Nani had given up but kind of understood her. Sometimes dealing with the dead wasn’t easy.
Tru had finally convinced James (Detective Sawyer) to go and get a new house. Although Tru was still not ready to call him Dad, he understood and they just compromised on just using first names until Tru was finally ready. Today happened to be the final moving day. Their new house had a cemetery sitting on its South border. Tru knew from the moment she saw it that it was perfect for them.
Just before they left their old house for their new one, the mail arrived. Tru looked through and was excited to see a letter from Ava. She ripped it open and began to read it.
Tru,
It was great to hear from you. Things have been going fairly well back at home. I’ve forgiven my Dad and my sister and I are talking again. But I miss you and Trace so much. It’s still hard to believe that I’m not going to see Trace again until…well, you know. I’m hoping to be able to come and visit you in a couple weeks. I wish I had more to say but right now I don’t. Congratulations on your new house. Make sure you send your new address right away. I can’t wait to see you again.
Ava
Tru folds up the letter and returns to the car where James is waiting. “Are you ready now?” he asks. She nods and he pulls out of their driveway and heads towards their new house.
When they pull into the driveway, Tru feels spirits in the backyard. When she gets out of the car she can hear voices in the back. She walks around the house and sees several spirits walking around by the graveyard. ‘Things will never be the same,’ she thinks. ‘But then again, they’ll never be boring either.’ Then she walks away and walks into her new home and her new life.
Thank you all for your reviews. I started this story back in 2004 but stopped because I started working on other stories. Thanks to a lot of hassle from Vivian J. Edwards, Tasha West, and Darklight Shadow, I returned to this story and am proud to say that I have finished it. I am currently working on outlining a sequel although I am unsure when it will be posted. So thanks for all of your support. I really appreciate it.
