AN: Cigarette ash reminds me of you...

Morning After

Sun rise, rise and awake
To mornings of cigarette
Ash burning with the faint smell
Of your perfume...

Take a walk (down the plank)
To the balcony of this (ragged heart)
One room suite (don't think of jumping)
Think of your smile.

Morning glory, the morning after
Open shirt and wind to spare
Birdsong through my lips, my
Finger marks upon your neck...

Blue summer sun (in summer eyes)
Discard these sheets (they're not needed anymore)
Watching and writing (of separate lives, we are)
You kissed me (right) here.

Turn inside, turn away, and forget
Paradise ever happened (one night is enough...)
The morning after is beautiful
Pack it up and put you away...

Alone until another
Morning after.
