Forest Fire

By Kourumi
The glittering aura captures all sight;
A flash of crimson sets the sky aglow;
Alluring, yet tranquil, ever so bright;
Smoke fills the air, it is a dismal scent;
Of fire that burns below dawn’s light;
Animals run, the fish remain so calm;
Birds, unlike the phoenix, rise, take flight;
High, higher, escape the coming peril;
Seen by all eyes in this hallowed night;
The licking flames ascend heavenward;
Beware nature’s wraith, burning fires might.
