It was getting dark outside, like usual. But, this darkness didn't come from the time change or the sun retreating from Kyra's little world. A storm was approaching. A big one. Thankfully, she wasn't alone; though she might as well be. Around eight or nine, she has already changed from her work clothes, and dressed in something comfortable.
Of course, she watches TV. After that, Jade her roommate, can be found in their room. He stays in there a lot lately; mostly because he doesn't want to be seen. He was fired a couple of days ago, which only added to his depression. Kyra has tried to cheer him up, but every attempt failed. She sees him only when they go to bed. They say their 'Goodnights' and that's it.
The TV was blaring and she had almost drifted off to sleep. Shadows were cast upon the walls from occasional lightning. Just as a yawn escaped her lips, another bolt came crashing down, taking the t.v and the rest of the power with it. "Damn it!" she yelled, glaring at random things for the loss of her beloved power. The house fell silent, but not for long.
She heard something, not sure what though. Kyra bit her lip and listened closer. A sharp intake of breath and a sigh were heard filtering down the hall. "Jade?" She cautiously whispered with her eyebrows raised. Standing to her feet, she made her was down the hall on her tiptoes. Another sigh and a slight moan were heard. Her mind wasn't prepared for what came next.
She peered around the corner leading to the bedroom. The door was shut, save for a small crack. Light flickered out and onto the opposite wall. Everything was getting so confusing. She reached the door and outstretched her arm. As Kyra touched the doorframe, she heard what was almost a cry of pain, but not very loud. She froze. Finally, she got up the courage to open the door; only a little bit at first. She glanced from corner-to-corner.
Then, she saw him. Jade was sitting on the opposite side of the bed, in the floor, with his back to her. He had a few candles lit and set around him. His hands were in front of him and he was shirtless. Of course, she had a few wrong thoughts at first. Her assumptions were wrong though. As she was now only a few feet away, she could see what he was doing.
Her eyes grew large and Kyra covered her mouth with a gasp. He knew she was there now. He sharply turned his head around with a glare, but it quickly faded when he saw her face. He looked so... hurt. ashamed. She looked around him and saw various items; all covered with blood...her Jade's blood. "No! Don't look at me!" he yelled, his anger returning. "Jade..." she said, still staring. "Why..." she managed to ask. He cut her off with a cynical laugh and scrunched up his brow.
"Kyra, you should know by now...My life is Hell!" he yelled, clenching his bloody razor. "No, you didn't let me finish. 't you invite me?" Jade's angered expression faded once again into shock/confusion. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He looked down at his arms and his many 'mistakes.' The razor fell from his hand. Then, he shook his head and met her eyes again.
"You don't understand. This isn't some game. It's a problem. my problem." His eyes were filled with shame as the words exited his lips. "Jade. you're not 's my problem too." With that, Kyra stared into his eyes and placed her hands on her wrists, sliding her sleeves up. She looked away as she showed him her scars.
There were many; more than his even. "H-. how didn't I notice before?" He asked, still confused. She gave a slight grin and shrugged. "I wear long- sleeved shirts all the only see each other at night in we have.. Um...Better' things to focus on then... "
Kyra sat by him on the floor and moved a candle closer to them. "Yeah, I thought I could hide mine... guess I was wrong." She grinned and kissed his cheek. "At least we both know now. " Silence struck the room. "God, you must think I'm ..." It pained her to hear him speak like that.
"No! You're beautiful." She said, running her hand through his hair, and then looking back to the ground. "And so are you..." Her eyes went back up to his face. He was staring at her now. She bit her lip and looked down at his arms once again. Carefully, she reached over and picked his hand up.
She turned it over so it was palm-up. His fresh cuts were still pouring. Beautiful crimson. Kyra lightly traced a finger around one, cautiously as to not hurt him. Then, with her eyes locked onto his, she brought his arm up to her mouth and placed a kiss on one of the cuts. With a sharp intake of breath from him, she closed her eyes.
He felt so warm, so soft. She rose up a bit, and then moved to another one. This time, she slowly licked it, cleaning away the blood. She felt Jade shudder as she worked. Her hands were shaking as she held his arm. she sat up and gently put his arm back down. An idea came to mind.
a/n: One more part to go after this. Sorry to just end it. Not one of my best works... but it was a boredom project and wasn't meant to be great. Thanks for reading! Reviews? ~scars~
