Sapienti

~

Your words,
Leading a kingdom to ruin,
Pleading children
Cling to your silken robes,
Queens of greatness lean in to hear,
Dukes and duchesses on their knees,
Begging the oracle,
As the tower falls,
And the prophecy they yearned for
Is drowned by wind and flame.
With a smothered scream, you left us,
Now the lines of hope are cut,
Our wise one is fallen,
And thus are we.
