On a nylon flag
Red white blue.
These colors don't run.
They bleed.
Put them in the sun,
purest critical light—
They fade.
Rose ivory wedgewood.
Expose to sand and dust,
They grow dingy.
Pink grey baby's breath.
Porcelain fine memories
With reshaped meaning.
