DEDICATION: To everyone who reviewed! It's so great! This story has been picking up on popularity (right at the end of the poor thing too) and it's really inspiring. Thank you all so much!
WARNING: Not really much for this chapter at all (sadly). I still don't know how detailed I'll make the lemon for this story, if there is one at all. I have no plan!
Adam stood floored in the doorway of the office. He was a bit shocked by seeing his best friend making out with another guy, especially a preppy little bitch that Dillon claimed to not like at all.
"Shall I come back later?" Adam asked.
Dillon and Gabe looked at each other guiltily.
"This isn't what it looks like," Dillon told Adam, rising from the couch and moving as far away from Gabe as he could in the small room.
Adam raised an eyebrow. "You were definitely just kissing." He came towards them. "It doesn't matter to me. You can do whatever you want." He smiled reassuringly. "I know that Justin likes guys and I'm okay with that."
"Hold up! I'm not saying I like guys! I..." Dillon trailed off because he didn't actually know what to say.
"I-I need to go." Gabe stood quickly and walked out the door.
Adam's eyebrow went higher. Obviously Gabe was confused over the entire situation too. He turned to his friend, "So, this is new."
Dillon groaned, "I need a fucking drink!"
Adam sat on the couch. "Do ya' wanna talk?"
Dillon ran a hand through his hair. "I dunno. I dunno what's goin' on with me and him. Yeah, we kissed, but I dunno what it means." He looked into Adam's eyes. "I kinda' liked it and am afraid I know what that means."
(Gabe)
Gabe went to see the only person he knew he could trust, and that was Justin. Justin's mom greeted him rudely at the door and told him that Justin was in the studio.
"Dude, what's up with your mom? She..." He stopped speaking when he saw all of the paintings that Justin had created. "Wow. You've been doing a lot of work. These are incredible."
"Thanks," Justin acknowledged the compliment, putting down his paintbrush. It was probably about time he had a break. He had been painting ever since he and his mother had finished arguing.
"What happened to your hand?" Gabe asked.
"It's kind of a long story. It sort of relates to my mom being upset too." Justin explained how he had been doing a painting with glass and cut himself on it. He told how Adam was helping him clean it and his mother walked in with her accusations.
"She was accusing Adam of giving me sexual diseases when we've only kissed once!" Justin blurted out. Once he did, he turned completely crimson. He hadn't meant to admit that, but in his rage towards his mother his mouth worked faster than his brain.
"Well," Gabe raised an eyebrow. "That is interesting."
"Promise you won't tell anyone?" Justin whispered.
"Who will I tell? And why would I do something like that to my best friend. Especially when I am just as guilty."
Justin's nose crinkled in confusion. "Huh?"
"Dillon and I kissed."
(Dillon and Adam)
"You liked the kiss, but liking it doesn't make you gay," Adam stated.
"I know. I never ever wanted to do another guy, but Gabe...I dunno. I can't explain." Dillon put his head into his hands. He felt a headache coming on.
"Dillon, why bother putting a label on your feelings? Does it matter that much?"
"I guess you're right." Dillon paused. "Have you ever kissed another guy?"
Adam nodded.
"Who?" Dillon's eyes widened. He was incredibly curious.
"Justin," Adam answered matter-of-factly.
"Really? That's a surprise. Ya' know it's kinda' funny that you kissed Justin and I kissed his best friend."
They both marveled at the irony of the situation.
(Gabe and Justin)
Justin was shocked by Gabe's statement. He wouldn't have guessed it, but now that he thought about it, it wasn't that unexpected. When Gabe and Dillon spoke to each other they often argued. Their arguments were heated and had a spark. It could easily be converted from hate to attraction.
"And?" Justin asked as if he couldn't see anything wrong with Gabe and Dillon kissing, which he truly didn't (see anything wrong with it).
Gabe gaped like a fish for a minute before snapping back to the conversation. "And? I kissed Dillon and he kissed me! And I think...No, I know that I liked it." Gabe curled into a ball on the couch. "Justin, how did you know you were gay?"
Justin immediately sat by Gabe's side. "Whoa, you just missed a big step there. You leapt to a conclusion. Just because you liked kissing him doesn't make you gay."
Gabe looked up from folded arms. "You're right. But truthfully, what made you realize that you like guys and not girls?" Gabe was actually surprised at himself for not asking this question before.
Justin hesitated. "Well, I guess I've always known. I've just always liked guys better than girls and when puberty struck..." He blushed. "I realized that I didn't want to kiss girls but wanted to kiss guys. At first I tried to fantasize about girls but it just didn't do anything for me," he admitted.
"Wow." Gabe couldn't really imagine something like that happening to him, but if everything happened to him that way it would have made everything a lot less confusing.
They talked together until Gabe needed to return home.
(Monday Morning)
Gabe and Justin drove to school together as usual. Gabe was still pretty undecided about everything that had happened, but Justin's counsel was helping him figure out his feelings about the whole situation.
As soon as they approached the school, Dillon and Adam approached them.
"Hey Abercrombie, wanna go out for lunch today?" Dillon asked.
Gabe looked a bit puzzled but agreed to.
"See ya' then." The two friends went on their way.
Justin raised a speculative eyebrow at Gabe. "Getting together for lunch? That sounds a bit kinky, like he's planning for food sex or something."
Gabe swatted him in the arm. "Get your mind out of the gutter! You only wish that Dillon and I were getting it on during lunch to fulfill one of your sick fantasies!" He teased Justin about being a pervert.
Justin gave him an impish look. "But it would be really hot to see..."
"Shut up!" Gabe wacked him again.
"You're so abusive hunny. Does Dillon like it that way?"
Gabe immediately lunged at his friend.
Justin shrieked with laughter as he ran around the lobby, eluding his friend's capture.
Gabe chased him until the first bell rang and they needed to get to class.
(Lunch time)
Justin grinned as he saw Gabe head off to Dillon's truck. Gabe looked over his shoulder and saw Justin smirking at him. In response he stuck out his tongue at him. Justin returned the gesture just as Adam happened to be stepping out the door.
"That's attractive," Adam commented, sarcasm lacing his words, but a small smile was on his face so Justin knew he wasn't trying to be mean.
"He deserved it," Justin tried to justify his actions, but he still felt embarrassed that Adam had caught him doing something so childish.
Adam didn't seem to care though. He just made an amused sound and headed to the back of the school.
Justin shrugged and followed him. They sat under the tree together, in what was becoming a habit. Justin opened his lunch, offering some to Adam. He knew that Adam didn't always get enough to eat lunch so he secretly began packing extra in his lunch. He always offered some to Adam. As Adam reached for the sandwich, Justin noticed a new hemp bracelet on Adam's wrist.
"That's cool," Justin touched the bracelet with a fingertip.
"Thanks. I made it." After a pause he added, "Do you want one?"
"Sure." Justin beamed.
Adam fished one out of his pant's pocket and handed it to Justin. All students were required to take some sort of arts class and Adam was currently enrolled in one called creative crafts. He had finished the current project early so he occupied himself during class by making macrame hemp bracelets and necklaces. People thought he couldn't do it because he had only one hand, and he was more than happy to prove them wrong, as he did in a great many things.
Because of his injured hand (from the glass), Justin was struggling to put the bracelet on his wrist. Adam leaned over to assist him.
"There," he said, tying off the knot.
Their eyes met, Justin's blue eyes so sweet and innocent, reflecting every thought and feeling in their depths for Adam to see.
It was that moment when Adam realized that he wanted to kiss Justin again.
(Dillon and Gabe)
Gabe sat in Dillon's truck feeling a bit awkward being there. He kept sneaking glances over at his companion, until Dillon had caught him looking.
Gabe flushed, staring straight ahead.
"We need to talk," Dillon stated.
"Yes."
They reached the office in record time, even after stopping to pick up a pizza. They sat down on the couch and began to talk.
"What happened last weekend was something I never done. I never wanted to kiss a guy before," Dillon admitted.
"But you wanted to kiss me?"
Dillon gulped, feeling a bit nervous. "I dunno. It weren't bad or nothing."
They both looked at each other.
Gabe took the initiative. "Do you want to do it again?"
