The Boy Next Door

I look down at my wrist
sighing, the colors now a bit faded
rainbow plastic and glow in the dark
and just three letters

There's nothing wrong with it
the bracelet is a good one
I made it myself, you know
the three letters just...

The walls around me,
so full of memory at the glance
Past moments captured
Aching remnants of something happy
something that was real

The picture I hold of...
Do you remember?
You were so...great right then
So...soft...and gentle
Just looking at this makes me...

Where are you now?
I was just wondering really
Are you laying in bed,
like me
Do you look at my picture at night?
Like I do of yours?
or is your mind a million miles away
still in the sky, a hundred miles up
You're just so...

...wonderful
...forgetful
...innocent

...Dan...
