Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.

Old Guy he went to Parliament
To burn them all to Hell
He took some powder and some wood
To kill them all right well.

Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.

He had a bunch of traitor mates
Helping in this cunning plan
But one lost his bottle for death
And then, oh boy, he ran.

Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.

He ran straight for the King, he did
In such a hurry to report,
The King came down all in a rage
And so that Guy was caught.

Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.

We'll hoist him aloft on our fire
Tied to some old tree
And dance as the flames rise up
We've given the traitor his fee.

Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.

And not the once he'll burn for us
But over and over again
To show young lads and lasses
This is what happens to traitorous men.

Lets burn him for a traitor, lads,
Lets burn him for King James,
Build the bonfire higher boys
And up go the flames.
