She jumped onto her bed and put the covers over her, screaming. "Jawn?! Jawn?! Fucking get out of my room!!" Jawn almost thought Hephanie had found out he was in there, but she was probably guessing. She couldn't see him. He snickered. The computer turned on, and he went and opened a word document. Then he typed a message for Hephanie. "HEPHANIE!! ADMIT THE LIE YOU MADE TO YAHNEE ABOUT JAWN, OR FOREVER SUFFER THE PUNISHMENT OF YOUR SINS! THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM GOD, I LOVE YOU (Jawn cringed as he typed that) BUT YOU MUST REPENT FOR THIS GRUESOME SIN NOW OR ELSE SUFFER FOREVER!" Jawn then stood next to the computer, and waited for Hephanie to read it.

Slowly, Hephanie crawled out of the covers and went over to the computer. When she read the message she let out a cry. Hephanie believed in God. Would Hephanie fall for it? Hephanie ran over to her bed and began praying. "Dear God… forgive me for my sins! I repent for them… please forgive me! I won't do such a thing again!" Hephanie did not say anything about admitting the truth. He went over and typed again. "NOT GOOD ENOUGH! ADMIT YOUR LIE!" Hephanie read the message and began sobbing. "Please God! I'm sorry for what I've done! Just please forgive me!" Jawn roared in frustration then typed another message. "YOU MUST REPENT BY TELLING THE TRUTH OR YOU SHALL BURN FOREVER IN HELL!" Hephanie continued sobbing after she read the message. "It's only a little joke! You can't send me to Hell for that!" Jawn typed again. "YES I CAN!" Hephanie continued sobbing, and Jawn left another message. "YOU MUST REPENT FOR THE SIN HEPHANIE, OR YOU WILL FIND THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE A GOOD AFTERLIFE!" With that, Jawn left Hephanie's house as she continued to sob and scream, "Forgive me! Forgive me!"

The next day, Jawn went over to Hephanie again with Stealth on. She was heading over to Yahnee. "Hey! What's up?" Jawn could see her troubled eyes. She was finally going to do it… the effort had paid off. "So how was your date with Myke?" Jawn's face dropped. Hephanie continued on, not saying anything at all about the truth… Jawn was enraged. How stupid was Hephanie anyway? He stepped behind her. He placed his hands around her neck, then grasped it. She let out a gasp. Jawn squeezed.

Hephanie began choking, and coughing. She grabbed at her neck for hands she couldn't feel that were taking her life away. "Yahnee! Ya-yah-nee!" Yahnee stepped back, looking bewildered as Hephanie's face strained. Jawn whispered into Hephanie's ear. "Admit the truth to her Hephanie! Or else you'll find yourself in worse pain than this!" Jawn would not kill Hephanie. First of all, as much as he hated her he didn't want to kill her, especially not with his own hands. Secondly, she still had to admit the truth to Yahnee. "Hephanie?! Hephanie!" Yahnee began to grab at Hephanie, and Jawn let go. "Hephanie?!" Hephanie coughed, and began to sputter, spitting on Yahnee's face. "Yahnee! I need to *cough cough* tell you something!!" Finally! Hephanie was a stubborn and ignorant one.

"I lied! Remember all that shit I told you about Jawn? I just lied!" Yahnee froze, then took a step back. "What… what are you…" Hephanie coughed, tears forming in her eyes. "It was a lie Yahnee! Jawn never said anything about you! I don't even know if he likes you or not! I just made it up!" Yahnee looked at Hephanie, her eyes growing wide. "Why…" Words failed her. "I don't know…" Jawn grabbed Hephanie's neck again. "Because! I wanted him to like me! I wanted him to think you were bad, so then he would come to me instead!" Yahnee's face was blank, as if she wasn't picking up on what Hephanie said. Hephanie continued. "It's been bothering me for a while… I'm sorry Yahnee I lied!" Her eyes were red and she was sobbing as she finally admit the truth.

Yahnee was holding her forehead and she moaned. "You are kidding me..." The bell rang. The end of nutrition came. It was now going to be PE. Yahnee stood there for a moment, staring at Hephanie, then walked off quickly. It was satisfying to Jawn. Yahnee knew the truth now. How she would act now that she knew would be a different story. Jawn ran ahead into the PE field and into the locker room. He changed his clothes and went out to sit in line again. He sat and waited, wondering if anything would happen next. Apprehension filled him when he heard Yahnee and her friends approaching. He sat tense, fixing his eyes straight ahead. He almost jumped up when someone tapped him and called him. "Jawn." It was one of Yahnee's friends. "Jawn, Yahnee needs to talk to you."

Jawn sat still for a moment. He was sure anger was seeping his eyes. "Jawn!" He did not turn and look at her. "She can come talk to me herself." There was a pause, then he heard the girl mumble something. Footsteps. "Jawn." It was Yahnee. His heart pounded as he wondered what Yahnee was going to say. He slowly stood up and faced her. Her eyes had the same look of sorrow as Hephanie had, only deeper. "Jawn… I'm sorry."

A mix of relief and agony washed over Jawn as he heard this. He had to act ignorant. "Sorry for what?" Yahnee took a deep breath. "I'm sorry that I ignored you. Hephanie… she told me lies about you. That you were saying all these things about me… and you liked me." Jawn's blood ran profusely. "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't know Hephanie was lying to me." Something broke inside Jawn as Yahnee said this. He found he couldn't say anything. He was breathless and he couldn't help but groan. "Ok… ok…" A light smile ran across Yahnee's face. "So are we friends again…?" Jawn slowly nodded his head. "Yeah… friends… again…"

Light conversation ran through them again. The joy and feeling that it once had before however, was all but gone. It felt empty to him. While a sort of satisfaction was there, it wasn't nearly as great as he hoped it would be. Those troubles were now over, but it felt empty. Why?

He headed back to the spot he had found the gadget. He could almost imagine it sitting there again instead of being in his arm. He wondered if it was possible to put it back down again. He looked at the gadget, then decided it would be better to just hold onto it.

Life felt meaningless to him now. Suddenly, everything just felt like it was washed away. He sat in his bed, staring at the gadget and wondering what he could do with it. So many possibilities. Nearly endless. This gadget could satisfy so many things. Search for truth… stealthy fantasies… the most devious of pranks. What could he do with this? There were so many things that Jawn could do with it, and he had only explored one possibility with it.

He would explore time. Whatever he could think of, he would go to that time and satisfy himself. He did have all the time in the world after all. With more than just one road down time opened for him, Jawn could forever do things. He could help the world. Write history extremely accurately. See how dinosaurs went extinct. With so many possibilities in the palm of his hand, Jawn wasn't sure what he could get started with.

He pressed Pause. Custom. The gadget spoke to him. "Please input specific details." Jawn had a light smile. "Take me to the future. I wanna see what I'm like 10 years from now." He would start there. Start with the future, then probably go back into the past. Why sit in the present when he could go anywhere else?

The End
