Belonging

We used to be a group.

One by one, we each left,

but a few of us -

we pushed on.

One left on the way,

one left when we stopped to rest,

one left just when we were going to promise Forever.

That left only the two of us,

deserted by those who had found

their place of belonging.

Now, we have come

to the end of the road.

You belong here.

Where do I belong?
