TWISTING MEMORY

Singing stinging lullibies
To the people you despise
Pouring honey in their ear
And poison down their throats
Always charming always smiling
Always scheming always frowning
Contept for all you hide deep
Underneath the placid surface
Placid yet not unbroken
Bubbles rise to the surface
Waves occasionally skim
But the bottom's always hidden
Hidden, dark, cold, dangerous

Only when you drive the dagger in
Do they finally see what's within
Your wretched mind, in it's depths
Where angels fear to tread
And demons ride great chariots
Driven by the flame of hate
Counterstroked by a genius mind
Yet misplaced genius
Unable to apply to anything but
Countering the burning forge
Where fury swells and moulds
Red hot swords on anvils of memory
Scarred with grooves of the past

A secret love for pouring blood
Like the sweet marrow in the hard bone
You kill for the sake of your fury
In revenge to the wounds of time
In revenge for the cauldron of the past
Boiling you alive
Flesh burning hot by scalding water
Underneath on logs of circumstance
Dwells the fire of fate
Which has so wronged you
Which has so twisted you
Which has so moulded you
Into a ruthless loveless beast
