How do you scream for help
When your teeth are clamped, your eyes downcast,
Your hair is pulled across your face
And no one's listening anyway?

Why does no one see your tears
When you blink them back and wash your face?
Why does no one see your scars
When you wear long sleeves and sunglasses?

Why does no one hear the "yes" in your "no"
Or read the "help me" in your face?
Why do they assume you're alright
When everything looks normal?
