The Moon Child

It is said that every 500 years a hero of great power emerges to protect the human race from destruction, this hero is known as the Moon Child, the Moon Child is a female, she is pure of heart and beautiful. This is the tale of Sazuki, a young girl who's life is at stake when Doel, an evil and powerful Sorcerer learns of her.

Chpt 1

Sazuki was 7 when her village was attacked, flames burst from every cottage, Sazuki heard the screams from a small field where she and another playmate were playing. They ran from the field, looking for their parents. Sazuki tripped, falling into the hectic muddy street, "Papa! Mama!" She cried.
Horses ran in a frenzy, men could be heard shouting for their children. Sazuki felt strange, as if she wasn't really their, she could feel the pain of the people as they found siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles, dead, either burned or killed by magic. They knew that it was Doel who was attacking, they just didn't know why he was doing it. Maybe the Moon Child was in their village, Doel despised the power that the child was supposed to poses.
Sazuki sat up a horse was running madly at her, unable to be calmed by the master. Sazuki closed her eyes tightly and felt the hooves go through her body, through her chest, surprisingly no pain accompanied this. Sazuki opened her eyes and saw that the horse had backed up, it was now calmed it looked into Sazuki's eyes. "Are you OK?!?" Cried the rider, "Are you hurt?"

The man stopped, "Wait a moment I saw the hooves hit you, how is it-" The man gasped, "You're the chosen one, the legendary Moon Child!"
"The what?" Sazuki asked.
"We have to get you outta here, Doel is searching and destroying the town to get to you!"
"But- my parents." Sazuki began.
"GIVE UP THE CHILD!" A loud voice roared.
The man pulled Sazuki onto the horse as Doel appeared, "Give her up now!"
"Never!" The man exclaimed making the horse run, Doel's horse ran just as fast.
A blast of energy left Doel's fingers, knocking the man unconscious. Sazuki held the man up and pushed the horse onward, it took off like a flash of lightning. Doel's horse soon fell behind. An explosion filled Sazuki's ears as her village exploded. The screams of her dying people left her ears. Sazuki stopped the horse in a field she new all to well, nearby there was a hidden cave that Sazuki and her friends had dug with their bare hands. The cave was very sturdy and large and would have to do as shelter that night.
Sazuki started a small fire in the fire pit that her friends and herself had created, it was dark and the smoke would not be seen, they had added a hole in the ceiling so that the smoke could escape without choking them.
Sazuki pulled the horse inside and laid the man near the fire, she had dipped a piece of cloth, torn from her outfit into a spring nearby and now wiped the man's bloodstained face. A large gash on his forehead told Sazuki that at one point he had been thrown from the horse. After tending to the man Sazuki brought the horse some water. She brushed the horse off with the brush that had been in a bag near the saddle, after that she grabbed a bunch of hay that had been cut and lain in the field. Soon after Sazuki leaned against a rock to watch over the horse and man, she fell into an exhausted sleep on her feet.
