Untitled #2
Cry Yourself to sleep
Within my arms
But the world
Expects me to smile
So I must
It slowly tears me up inside
The pain it causes
The soft tears
That threaten
To roll down my cheek
Every time
I look at you
Let me be your shield
When you're feeling weak
Lay within my arms
Rest your head
Against my chest
Let it all out
Behind my arms
Where the world
Can never see you
Just know
You never have to
Go through this alone
I'll be here for you
I have to go through this alone
Can't you see
I need to stay strong
Never to shed a tear
Even when i wish i could
I'll hold them back
To be the strength
My friends rely upon
No one wants to see me
When i'm weak
And i never want
To be weak for you
Can't you see
It doesn't matter to me
What i see
When i look in your eyes
All i see is the beautiful girl
I met
Upon that cold March night
This fascade i wear
From the morning's sun rise
To when i fall asleep
Upon my bed at night
Is wearing me down
I'll keep it up
Until i shatter
Into a million pieces
Till i drift away
With the cold Autumn wind
Let my hands
Stop your lovely face
From shattering
Please help me
Help you
Keep it together
Upon the coldest nights
I'm only a block away
Waiting for you
To fall into my arms
And if you should ever
Lose yourself
Within the wind
I'll gather the fragments
Put you back together
This world we live in
Is cold and broken
Why can't you leave me alone?
I can never escape
This role i'm forced to play
Every day
No matter what words
That fall from your lips
They're all lies in the end
So leave me here
A shattered American dream
By the sidewalk curb
Let the rain
Finally wash me clean
Don't try to save
The ones
That refuse
To save themselves
Can't you see
You're more
Then what you can see
If your dreams crash
To your feet
I'll put them back together
No matter how far
You try to push me away
I'll always be here
A block away
Right next door
In your room
Sitting upon
The dresser table
Waiting for you...
