((Reposting Alert!!))

AN: This is my first posting. If it screws up, I blame myself. I own it completely. I always wanted to write that, being on had you write disclaimers. Now I’m completely free and in owning everything!!

Most of my poems will be depressing. They are old, and that means that this is not my currently best work. I wrote these over the course of last year during my classes. So, enjoy.

Past and Present Collide

It’s all a blur to me

in my dreams is what I mean

and of course, what I see.

All seems so real,

but that’s impossible

since that what I see

doesn’t even exist in my country

Every time I try to recall

like recent memories

runs out of my reach

to a point I can’t breach.

Maybe other clues will tell me

who I was, or who I will be

Where I am, I am almost always cold

jacket in the summer, layers in the fall.

I have a huge fascination with other lands

because of legend, my friend calls it Land of the Damned

always independent, but hates to be alone

Hate to be hated yet despised to be adored

It’s time to be straight out, without any rhyme

I want to see Egypt, I have theories to confirm

their statue design is similar to me

high cheek bones, soft eyes and a hand sized forehead to boot

maybe someone that reads this can finally figure out

what my past life was and what it’s about

Aya Shinomori
